Mornings were Sherwin's favorite part of the day. Getting ready for a whole day of brand new experiences was something that excited him the most. That, and he could try on a whole bunch of outfits to wear.

"Turn it down a notch, will ya tiger?" Sherwin could hear his brother's voice through the bathroom door. He loved to listen to music. So damn much. However, his brother didn't share his profound liking towards music. Or at least, towards real music, according to Sherwin. Chuckling to himself, he lowered the volume. Humming to himself, he gently shampooed his golden hair. He loved it, and was kinda attached to it. Once, he almost tore up when his mum compelled him to get a haircut.

What do I wear today, he wondered as he stepped out of the shower. He loved fashion, and had a pretty good sense of it too, something that he was always complimented for.

After a few minutes of deep thought, he decided to go with a hoodie, and skinny jeans. 'Stay weird with confidence'. Sherwin liked the motto on the hoodie. If only it were that easy.

"Bye mom!" Sherwin waved to his mother as he left for school. As he walked, he saw a man unloading stuff from a truck. New neighbors. Hope they're nice, thought Sherwin. He didn't pay much attention to that as he was getting late for school.

"Over here, mate!", called a voice from the crowd. Sherwin struggled to make his way to the source of the voice. There he was. "Good morning, Felix", greeted Sherwin. The both of them walked down the corridor to their classroom. School was always boring, however, Sherwin loved it, because, it was the place where he could hang out with his friends.

"Hey guys!", said Sherwin, to his friends. "Hi Sher!! Nice hoodie, I like it", said Alex. "Thanks! You're looking great too, Alex!", complimented Sherwin, earning a bright grin from her.
They rushed to the classroom on hearing the bell.

English class was pretty boring. Nothing interesting or funny happened, except that the teacher almost bumped into the door while searching for his glasses.

"Did you finish your French essay?", asked Barry, during the recess. "Yep!", beamed Sherwin, pulling out a few papers from his bag. "Woah, that's one hell of a long essay Sher! Worked hard on it, huh?", exclaimed Alex.

Sherwin smiled shyly. He was proud, though his cousin had helped him with the essay. She was French, and they were really close, so she was more than willing to help him. He kinda missed her, as he stayed in New York, they didn't see each other a lot. But, they never failed to keep in touch.

"Bonjour. Ça va?", said an unfamiliar voice. Sherwin turned around to see who it was. It was someone he had never seen before. The boy had silky raven black hair, but he couldn't fully see his face as his view was blocked by other kids. As he tried to move closer to get a clearer view, the teacher entered the class. The students sat in their places, and after greeting everyone, the teacher stated, "We have a newcomer today, my students. Why don't you introduce yourself, Jonathan?"

He walked up to the front, and as he turned to introduce himself, Sherwin's heart skipped a beat. The guy was stunning, with hazel colored eyes and pretty lips. "Hello everyone, my name's Jonathan! I'm from Minnesota, and, I like music, books and movies. I hope I can make good friends!", he said enthusiastically. That voice, it's so sweet, Sherwin thought to himself. "Why don't you go pick a seat, Jon?", said the teacher.

Jonathan's eyes scanned for a place to sit, and they immediately fell on Sherwin. He grinned, and took the seat near the blonde, as it was empty. He waved at him, but Sherwin didn't respond. He was in a trance. "HI", said Jon loudly. Realizing what happened, Sherwin blushed and waved to him, "Hi!". The black haired guy just smiled and turned away to listen to the class.

Gosh that was awkward, thought Sherwin.  Why did that happen? Why did he feel that way when he saw him? Why couldn't he talk straight to him? That feeling was new to him, and he wanted to know why it was so.

After school got over, the students hurried home. "Gosh I can't wait to watch the season finale of America's Next Top Model", said Alex. She was obsessed with fashion, and aspired to become a model. Her bold and straight-forward attitude was something that people loved her for. They all waved goodbyes, and Felix and Sherwin started walking home. "So, any plans for today, Sher?", asked Felix. "Nothing much, just gonna play the keyboard, and read a few books", Sherwin replied. He felt comfortable with Felix. He and the Australian went way back to their childhoods. They'd been friends for 6 long years, and they were practically brothers. "Mm hmm. So, what d'ya say that we go out to grab a bite tonight? We both are gonna be bored, and we don't really have a lot of homework", asked Felix, cheerfully."Oh! Sorry, but I gotta help my mum with her office project. What about tomorrow?"

Felix face dropped. He was clearly disappointed. Sherwin instantly knew, because they were really close, and Felix always wanted to spend time with him. Trying to shake it off, Felix said, "Aww, okay, no problem", trying to muster a smile. The Australian took one of the roads at the crossroad to reach home. Waving him bye, Sherwin went the other way.

He seemed really disappointed, though Sherwin. He never knew why Felix was so attached to him. Even though they were really close, he never felt the need to have Felix near him always, in contrast to the Australian's opinion. Well, he could make up for it the next day.

After dinner, Sherwin went up to his room, wishing everyone a good night. He got on his laptop and scrolled down Oakwood Secrets. Their school's blog was where the students shared their opinions and interests when not at school, oh, and gossip too. He started liking posts.

A picture of Alex, wearing a Top Model  T-Shirt.        Like.

A picture of Barry with his dog Bart.       Like.

A picture of Jonathan, with Sherwin's home visible at the background, captioned, Home Sweet Home.       Like.

Wait, what?, thought Sherwin. Why is there a picture of that guy that has my house in it??

"Sherwin, honey, a friend has come to see you!"

Sherwin's thoughts were interrupted by his mother's call. A friend? Barry, Felix and Alex would've told him if they were coming home. He put on his hoodie anyways, and went to see. As he got down the stairs, the sight that awaited him made his heart beat like crazy. It was Jonathan, grinning ear to ear.

'Hey neighbo- Hey, it's you! Hiii!'

Sherwin couldn't hear what he said next.
