Lance slouched down in his chair in the principal's office a little deeper as he held an ice pack on his fresh black eye, scowling a little at the dark haired boy across from him, covered in his own fair share of bruises and cuts. The principal sat at her desk, firmly stating the two boys down. "Mr. McClain, Mr. Kogane," she said. "You are going to explain to me what happened, why it happened, and why I shouldn't expel the both of you for it."

Keith's scowl deepened a little bit more. Fine, Lance thought. I'll just tell the story myself.

"Well you see, Mrs. Greene, Keith and I got into a fight."

"I can see that, Mr. McClain, yes," she said dryly.

"And, the reason why was cause Keith here stole my notes-"

"Bullshit!" Keith suddenly yelled, sitting up a littler bit. "You let me use them!"

But Lance continued on like he hadn't been interrupted. "- And of course, I'm a firm believer in the no cheating policy, so-"

"That's fucking stupid, you cheat all the time-"

"-And I had a phone number in there, ma'am, and Keith took it-"

"You were showing it off!"

"-started making fun of me for it, Mrs. Greene, and he wouldn't give it back-"

"Because it was stupid-"

"-So I had no choice to but to sock him for it- ow!" At this point, both of the boys were yelling to talk over one another.

"BOYS!" Mrs. Greene had finally heard enough. Both of them froze, and she stood. "That's it. This is getting completely out of hand. Both of you have to serve two weeks of after school detention."

"Two weeks?" Lance cried.

"Mrs. Greene, c'mon-"

"No!" she snapped. "No. If you two can't get along in the future, then I'll have no choice but to expel the both of you, and I don't want to do that. You're both good kids, and smart students, so you'd better learn to behave. Dismissed."

The two boys stared at her, gaping, but they slowly left her office anyway. It resulted in a slight shoving match outside her office door, more yelling, and they were both sent back to class for their teachers to deal with. And at the end of the day, they had to go to the detention room. They weren't the only ones there, of course. There was a small girl with short, auburn hair and thick glasses. Sitting next to her was a big, nervous looking guy with dark skin and a bandanna. Diagonal from him was a beautiful brown girl with thick white hair and a bored expression. The teacher was a man that they both knew well. He taught them all Physics. He just looked tired- but when wasn't he? "Hey, Shiro," Keith greeted, talking in the room.

Shiro sighed. "Detention again," he said, looking up at the ceiling. "What did you do this time?"

Keith jerked his thumb back at Lance. "Ask him," he said sullenly.

"Hey, you started it!" Lance protested. Keith whirled around to face him. Before an actual argument could break out, much to the amusement of the other students in the room, Shiro sighed heavily.

"Knock it off, you two," he said sternly. "Go on separate sides of the room. Sit down and shut up." They sat. "Now. We're in here for three hours after school, every day, for the next two weeks. Hopefully, you can all learn to get along."

"That's unlikely," Keith muttered, followed by a snort from the auburn haired girl.

"Why don't we all get to know each other a little better? Lance, Keith, we know why you two are in here. Pidge, what about you?"
