Chapter 13

A few days later...

Jeff POV

Mom was still trying to plan all of these things for family bonding time. And today we were going to an amusement park. I was not thrilled...

We were on our way, and it was a really long drive. We were going to be staying in a hotel.

I was sitting in the back next to Riker of course. I think my freak outs have gotten a little better. I've been having less of them.

But who knows what's going to happen today...

"Are we almost there?" I asked Riker.

"I think so. Why?"

"My back hurts from sitting so long."

"Lay down then. It might make it feel better."

I laid down in Riker's lap. He rested his hand on my side.

Finally we arrived at the amusement park. It was probably around dinnertime. Normally I'd be hungry about now, but I'm too anxious to eat.

We all got out, and mom let us go off in a group. Me and Riker needed to use the bathroom, so we stopped there first.

I was practically shaking as I washed my hands. I don't like rides. It's all too fast for me.

"Jeff, are you ok? You look pale," Riker said, drying his hands.

"Riker, I don't want to go on rides!"

"Have you ever been to an amusement park before?"

"Yes, and it was the worst experience of my life!"

"Hey. Calm down. I won't let anything bad happen to you, ok?"

He put his arm around me as we walked out.

"Let's go on a rollercoaster first!" Ross said.

"Yeah!" Rocky said.

Everyone started walking towards a rollercoaster. My heart started pounding in my chest.

We got in line. It wasn't very long. I was starting to sweat and feel sick inside.

Riker put his hand on my shoulder, which made me jump.

"Jeff, chill. It's going to be fun."

"Riker, please don't make me."

"Jeff, I promise it's going to be fun. Please just trust me on this."

"But it goes upside down! Riker, please!"

"Jeff. I need you to trust me."

I sighed. He's not letting me reason with him. He's not listening.

The line moved, and I knew we were going to be next. I only have about 5 minutes to convince Riker to let me not go.

"Please Riker," I whined.

"Jeff, it's fun. Believe me."

"No, it's not. It's too scary."

"When was the last time you went to an amusement park?"

"Like... a few years ago."

"Exactly. Give it another chance."

"Riker, please don't make me."

The line moved. Riker started lightly pushing me forwards. I got sandwiched between Ross and Riker on the rollercoaster. Riker pulled the bar down over our laps.
