"I'm continually impressed by the coffee you made, Sana! The art looks so complicated, and the taste is heavenly too! There's no other way to say it: this shop would be lost without you!"
"Why thank you, Mr. Kim. But other baristas are good and creative too... See? Even though I only have morning shift, people keeps coming here from day to night."
"Yeah, but you're my best worker I ever hired." Said the person whose name is Mr. Kim. He couldn't stop complimenting his worker because of how diligent she is.
"Every customer here is special, so I want to give my effort with hope and love in it." She said with a pretty smile on her face. She was so pleased to get a compliment from her boss.
"We'll have a new worker starting next week so make sure you teach her, okay?"
"Aye aye sir!"
"To be honest, I'm jealous of your talent. Not everyone is as creative as you, I mean it." A man in black shirt and brown apron butted in and took a chair next to the boss.
"Haha, Jackson.. I can teach you how to do it too."
"Yeah, but my shift ends at 9 and I have to work later. And even though we live next door, we never get the chance of seeing each other because of your late schedules in theater."
"Well, sorry for being so busy."
Mr. Kim coughed a little and excused himself from the two. "Uhm, I think I have to give this bickering couple a space. Well, keep up the good work. I'll be going to my dance studio."
Like an old friend, Jackson waved his hand a goodbye, "bye, Yugyeom! Don't overwork yourself!"
"I will!"
The boss soon left, he watched his friend focused on making some latte art.
"Need a hand?"
"No thank you, I can do this fast."
"Seriously, Sana. The customers are always complaining why you don't work full time here. I'm sure you'll get paid big by Yugyeom, I can tell him if you want. Besides, there's no other barista as neat as you in this café."
"I want to but.. I have other things to do, I just can't be a barista forever."
"Well, seeing you doing fine there at JYP theater for a year, I don't think I need to worry about you again..."
"Well... I may haven't got a big role yet, but I'll show you one day I could be a lead actress and you'll see my face on poster all over the town." Said Sana in a very confident tone.
Jackson could only smile at her friend and cheered, "Can't wait for your debut on stage. But then you'll be busier and who knows when you'll quit working here. We might be losing some of our loyal customers. And I'll get less to see you too."
"Since we're getting a new barista next week, it's gonna be fine, we won't lose one. People are still coming here because this place is strategic and cozy. Don't worry, I'll still be here, work for an hour or two, if needed, maybe..."
"You are always welcome and needed, baby girl."
Suddenly, Jackson twitched because a waitress pulled him by the ear. "Jackson Wang. I know you're Mr. Kim's best friend but that doesn't mean you can be goofing around here and there. So get back to work."
"a-aaww.. okay okay... sheesh, Mina you don't have to pinch my ear like that."
"Suits you, lazy man."
Jackson stood from his seat and left to the cashier where a customer waited, while checking the bills he looked at the girls' direction and winked.
Mina winced at the disgust of his action, "look at him being flirty. I think he likes you."
"No, we're close because we're neighborhood. And yes he always act all flirty to any girls he meet."
"Doesn't work to me." she proudly said, "but I feel something different when he's with you."
"Oh shut up." Sana rolled her eyes.
She continued making her coffee, and suddenly she remembered something to ask to her friend.
"Hey, you busy?"
"No. Why?"
"You see the man outside there?"
"Yes. Why?"
"Was he always been there?"
"He's a regular customer. He'd be here just in time the shop opens and leave at 7.40 to work, probably. He's been visiting about err..... 2 and a half months, I think? Not long after you work here."
"Oh I see..."
"Why? You like him?"
"No no, it's just... You know I only make 6 designs for coffee and these past few weeks I was asked to make a design requested by a customer. And later I found out it was he who always sitting on that same table outside... I never realized he was there all the time."
"Oh. That beautiful rose art with a colorful addition you made? Now I realized why it was only him to have a rose design latte every time I serve to the customer. No wonder he always come so early just to wait you make him that."
"It took me quite a long time to draw it, and since we have many customers come by to drink, Mr. Kim is hiring another barista to help me in the morning shift."
"I see.. That's why. And let's be honest, that man is so handsome. I can't help it!"
"Ahaha how handsome is he that he made this Lady fall in love..."
"You never see him?"
Sana shook her head, "I get so many orders that I'm never out of my place, Mina."
"You should!!! I'm sure you'll drool over him. And hey, I only say he's handsome but that doesn't mean I like him, okay? I have a boyfriend already."
"Oops. Sorry. But getting to know that guy and befriend with him, wouldn't be a sin, right?"
"Well, if you say so," she said, "why don't you do it yourself? Who knows you guys would look good together. Besides, you always made a special one for him right? Hhmm.."
"I'm the only barista here, so of course he drinks the coffee I made and hey, it's special because he's the only one to request it......"
"Yeah but you never date any guy after you broke up with your ex, and that was a long time ago. Oh yeah I forgot, you have Jackson."
"W-what? No... Jackson's just someone I consider as my brother. You don't have to worry. I just want to be single for now."
"Okay. Ah, I guess I'll be outside, he always ask for the bill and pay right before he leaves after this."
"Good luck in trying to be friend with him!" She jokingly said.
