Your eyes reluctantly flicker open as a bright and annoying ray of sun shines on your face, disturbing your peaceful slumber and causing a groan to erupt from your throat as you lazily sit up in your bed.
Why didn't I shut those damn curtains last night?
A wave of realization and deep blush spreading across your frowning face as you look down to notice an arm wrapped around your waist, you had forgotten that after the events of last night, you were too paranoid that Thatch or Mr. Newgate would change their minds and come to kill you so you couldn't sleep, leading to Sabo staying with you.
His warmth and comfort helped you eventually fall asleep but you had expected him to leave, not to also pass out in your bed. You try your best to sneak out of the duvet without waking the blonde, a wave of anxiety rising inside you as he grumbles something before turning over, thankfully he's still fast asleep.
Why are you so nervous, [F/n]?! It's your bed, not his!
Without wanting to risk another minute, you decide to get dressed as discreetly and quickly as possible before hot-footing it out of the room and down the hallway, you've not even brushed your teeth yet since you were in such a hurry.
Ugh, I feel like I'm doing the walk of shame and we haven't even done anything!
You decide to make your way to the living room since Thatch will most likely be cooking breakfast at this hour and you have no intention of being stuck in a room alone with him, trying to make conversation after he attempted to kill you last night.
Honestly, why am I still here? I must be out of my mind!
Your blood running cold as your eyes land on the couch, freezing you in your steps. You notice Ace, the brother you've yet to speak to properly, sat there with his head tilted back and his eyes shut and a soft snore escaping him every few seconds.
Well, great! Do I wake him?
Finally finding the strength to approach the raven, you give his shoulder a careful shake, earning yourself a little grumble but he doesn't seem to make any efforts to pull himself from his sleeping state.
With a sigh you decide to drop down beside him, sitting with a sleeping person still beats the alternative. Thatch. Your eyes fixing on the fire opposite you both, the raven must have passed out whilst watching the flames, they are rather beautiful after all.
Who needs a fire this early in the morning though? I know they're vampires but damn!
Your soul just about jumping from your body when Ace suddenly jolts awake, his eyes wide and a sheet of sweat coating his face. He soon relaxes back into the sofa though, his palms pressing against his forehead as he groans.
Is he okay? Did he have a nightmare or something?
Once he notices you in the corner of his eye, he sits up properly, his taunting smirk making a grand reappearance as he chuckles to himself. "Well, look who came to see me!" The hungry look he gives you isn't at all comforting, he has a tint of red in his onyx eyes, like Marco when he showed you his darker side...except Marco's red took up his whole iris.
Well, Ace sounds like he was a bad boy before death so I suppose it makes sense...illegal races, he must really like his thrills, even in his immortal life.
"Let's just hope you're not aching for a snack this time!" Your sharp response seemingly surprising the raven, his eyes widening for a second before he tilts his head to the side cockily, a curious hum leaving his lips. "I know you're the one who bit me, pull that shit again and I'll make sure Thatch finds out!"
