Chapter Twenty One - Halloween Party

Monday is back and I'm here in gym. I decided to run today around the school hallways of the gym. Court did it with me but we started to jog it off. Yea, I'm pretty fat and lazy. Lucky this is my last period of the day.

Friday Night

Tina and my mom were already dressed up for their night out and now it's just me alone. Alex is somewhere getting ready and well I don't know.

"Okay... Don't worry Riles, you'll be okay."

My costume is a zombie. A cute one actually. Not too stripper type nor nerd. Eh. My dress is black and ripped. It looks pretty good. My hair is a mess and my makeup came out well. I like how I look.

Alex should be here by now. Court and Nicole and their dates are there so where is mines? I don't feel like driving so I decided to just wait some more. No answers from him. No call back. No text back. Nothing. I felt my stomach mush and drop. Did he forget me? What? I got up and grabbed the keys from the counter and left out.

This party is huge. Luke must be a party thrower all his life. I park the car two blocks away and start heading to the beats of the music. Thud thud thud is all I can hear. Thud thud thud. I see a crowd but I pay no attention.

"Babe, you're looking fine. Need some help finding yourself around?" some guy yelled. Pay no attention Riley. Just keep on walking. Other boys said something to me but I didn't pay attention. I felt like hell for some reason. I walked by many people. Drinking and dancing people. Drugged people. Drunk people. People. I see Jesse walking out the bathroom. I grab a wine cooler and looked away. I grabbed another and started to walk towards the back yard. Thud thud thud. The music is loud. Boys look my way and smile. I don't feel well. Where was Alex? Court and Nicole were here. I seen them. They are enjoying their nights but I just want to be alone. I reached the back door and walked out. People everywhere again. I walked to the forest. No one seemed to see me. I opened up a bottle and started to drink. I looked at the sky. The moon is our light. So bright and that dark sky. Black. I smiled. I actually felt okay. Not upset. Nothing. The music was still booming like crazy. I threw the other bottle on the floor and finished my first. I worry too much about stuff. I need to just let back. Riley. Have fun. I leaned on a tree but I got up to walk. Someone grabbed me and I jumped.
