When Alfred woke up, he quickly opened his eyes and breathed rapidly. He noticed that the breathing hurt, as well as everything else.
He had never experienced so enormous pain, and the pain made his body twist and curl up.
His lungs were on fire and his stomach was aching badly.
He started to cry and then he reached out from the edge of the bed and violently threw up everything from his stomach, which wasn't much.
He almost choked on his tears as he hysterically looked around.
He had seen a terrifying dream, and he needed Arthur right now.
He was scared and needed to make sure that Arthur was still there. Still taking care of him. Still alive.
He looked around not regonizing the place. He started to panic. He wanted away from this scary place. He wanted to go home.
He noticed some tubes coming from his hands, and he shivered. The thought about weird tubes under his skin made him feel sick and he threw up again. His stomach was now completely empty, but weirdly, he wasn't hungry.
He wanted to take those weird tubes away, run away from this weird place and find the way to home.
He looked at his arms and noticed how unnaturally thin they were. He saw some bones through the nonexistent fat and muscles.
He looked at his hands. Fingers were still there, good.
He now checked his stomach and looked at it in disgust. He could see his ribs almost completely and his stomach was full of scars, bruises and wounds that were still painful, but healing.
He now looked at his legs.
Another leg was fine, only few bruises but then he looked at his another leg.
But it was gone.
He blinked few times, his brains trying to process eveything.
He.. he didn't have his right leg anymore..
Why?
What happened?
He was in shock, he didn't know what to think. He wasn't sure what this meant. Will he ever walk properly anymore?
He almost threw up for another time but his stomach didn't have anything left.
He felt sick, he was looking so.. awful. This wasn't how healthy human was supposed to look like. And.. and he didn't have his leg. It was gone! Forever!
He felt like the world hated him. Maybe it actually did.
He stared at the place his leg was supposed to be, scared about what will happen next. What will he do? He now didn't have a leg, and that felt like his freedom has taken away from him.
He couldn't run anymore. Hell, he couldn't even walk.
He wasn't sure how to react.
But what happened? He didn't remember anything at all. All he wanted was to find Arthur. With Arthur everything would be alright. Arthur would keep the sadness and pain away, right?
He looked around once again and noticed another man in the same room. The man looked like he was sleeping. Alfred looked at him and noticed that he didn't have two legs. One of them was gone.
He was almost like him. But he looked more sick and pale than him.
This scared Alfred. The man wasn't moving and he almost could have been a dead if his chest wasn't moving slightly up and down.

FanfictionWW2 was not easy for anyone. Lives were lost, dreams were taken, families were ripped apart. So how could a fragile boy, barely over 10 years old, survive it? I've decided to turn this into a book oops. Also i suck at descriptions but i used a lot...
