Four||Four
-Last chapter-
I removed my jumper and through it at Peter, just to annoy him more, then stepped off calmly, while saluting Eric. The Initiates were all laughing, but I knew Eric wouldn't be pleased. As expected I hit a bouncy net when I reached the bottom. I rolled over, trying to get out, when I saw the eyes of the boy I least expected.
-New Chapter-
"Tobias," I whispered utterly shocked. Thankfully he didn't hear me. He looked much more mature in his black dauntless clothes. His body had alot more muscle on it, meaning he was no longer a scrawny teenager.
I looked up at him. The cold glare I received from him proved he didn't recognise me. Hurt, I broke the eye contact.
"A stiff as the first jumper, pigs will be flying soon," he sounded amused. How dare he call me a stiff, when he himself comes from Abnegation.
"I'm sure if I kick you hard enough I could make you fly," I respond, letting my mouth get the better of me.
He looked shocked for a moment, before asking, "So what's your name?"
Hesitating I answered, "Just call me stiff," and I pulled myself off the net.
I was waiting around for someone I knew other than Peter- who I had utterly humiliated.
Before I transferred to an Erudite school I attended the normal all factions school in the middle of our city. In that school I was rather quiet, until I met Uriah. We had many of our lessons together and eventually he pulled out a more confident side of me. Outside of school we couldn't talk much because we were in different factions, however every time we passed each other we would share a knowing grin.
Uriah fell, laughing the whole way. Normally seeing other people laugh set me off to, however after just seeing my brother, I was too shocked and upset to do much. Uriah rolled off the net, and accidentally fell off. I smiled sadly. He quickly got up, dusted himself off and made his way towards the other initiates.
When he saw me, he ran over and hugged me tightly. Some of the older Dauntless members wolf-whistled behind us. I rolled my eyes, while trying to shake Uriah off me.
Soon all the initiates had gathered together around Eric, Tobias and some other Dauntless girl.
"Hi I'm Lauren, that's Eric," she said pointing at him, "and that's Four," so Tob- I mean Four is trying to cover up his past.
"I will be teaching the transfers," Four continued, "with Eric assisting me."
"And I will be teaching the Dauntless born," Lauren finished.
"Even though you will be trained apart, you will be ranked together," Eric added cockily smirking.
There were murmurs among the transfers. I had been waiting for the twist though. Freya had warned me.
"You chose us, now we get to choose you," Eric concluded.
The group split off, following the given instructors. When we reached the dorm room, Four stepped in, where as Eric stayed to the side. When I passed him he pulled me aside. Peter smirked as he walked by me, thinking I was in trouble. I simply smirked back.
"I thought you and Freya made some sort of vow about how you were going to choose the same faction," Eric asked confused.
"Freya knew I wanted to find my brother, and if I chose Erudite, it would cause more trouble than it's worth, and same applies for her choosing Abnegation," I replied.
"Why didn't you both choose Amity, Candor or Dauntless," He questioned, worrying excessively over mine and Freya's friendship. He was almost like a big brother to me.
"Your parents wouldn't let her leave, not after what happened with you," I said sadly.
What Eric did next shocked me more than anything ever could. He leaned forwards and hugged me. I wanted so desperately to cry, but after the day Tobias left I vowed to never cry over a person again. I stood in his Embrace for what felt like forever, before we finally broke apart and joined everyone else.
I chose a bed that was towards the middle of the room. To my right was some candor girl and Beatrice- I think her name is Tris now- and to my left were two Erudite transfers who I vaguely knew.
Once we had chosen our beds we had been given our new Dauntless uniform/clothing. And had been told to be ready for dinner in 10 minutes.
We all hastily began changing into the new outfits. I was about to slip my top off, when I realised that it was going to be a hassle making sure nobody saw my scars.
Once I was changed, I joined the line of initiates. It took about 2 minutes for the rest of the transfers to be ready, and before we knew it we were following Eric and Four out of the room.
As we walked, The two older boys pointed out parts of Dauntless, and finished explaining our training process. The walk to the hall took about 10 minutes, and I tried my best to memorize the complex way there.
The hall was loud and busy, nothing like Abnegation. There were multiple long tables that sat parallel to each other, and one shorter table at the end of the hall, that looked like it was only used during formal occasions.
Uriah was seated with two other girls, his older brother Zeke and Zeke's friends. Uriah waved me over, and slowly I drifted away from the other transfers and joined him.
Once I was seated I reached over, and grabbed a hamburger. I looked at it curiously, shrugged, then took a mouthful. Many flavors flooded into my mouth at once; it tasted like heaven!
"Have you never eaten a hamburger before?" Questioned one of Uriah's friends- Lynn I think her name was.
"Nah, in Abnegation we only eat plain food, like salad and bread," I replied, taking another bite.
