Bar Code (Prompto x MT! Oc)

Black and Blue

(Prompto POV) 

Cindy invited us over to meet her friend from school! Apparently, Cindy told Noct to tell me that she's cute! We were sitting on the couch in Cindy's room which was above the garage for the car repairs. Cindy was laughing before her phone buzzed and she frowned.

"Autumn is going to be a little late..." Cindy said sadly. We all stopped laughing and looked at Cindy, slightly confused. Cindy signed and stood up, motioning for us to follow her somewhere. 

"Autumn's hiding in the bathroom again, isn't she?" Cindy asked her 'Paw-Paw'. He nodded and shook his head. 

"Poor girl came home black and blue..." he said sadly. Cindy's eyes widened and so did all of ours. 

"Not again..." Cindy said running off the the diner next to the garage. She ran in, looking  around the diner as we followed. There was a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes poking some Sizzling Humongo-Steak which was of Hammerhead's specialties. The girl wasn't eating it and her hair shaded her face. Cindy fast walked over and so did we. Cindy tried to move the girl's hair out of her face, but the girl shook Cindy's hand away. 

"Look at me, Autumn..." Cindy said sternly. Autumn ignored her and kept poking her food. Cindy grabbed Autumn's chin and forced her to look up. Autumn was crying... She had a big bruise on her cheek bone, a split lip, scrapes on her arms, and a cut on her temple... Cindy covered her mouth and stepped back. 

"Autumn... Why don't you fight back..." Cindy said as she clenched her fists. My eyes were wide as I looked at Autumn's wounds... 

"You know they'd just use it against me, Cindy... They attack me because of what I am... Why prove them right...?" Autumn replied as the guy at the counter looked over sadly, bring Autumn a soda with no ice... Cindy sighed and put on a determined face. 

"Where are these assholes, Autumn?" Cindy said through her teeth. Autumn shook her head and sighed. 

"They'll take you out one handed, Cindy..." Autumn sighed as she poked her steak. We all sat in the booth with her except Gladio and Iggy who wouldn't fit... They ordered some ice for Autumn while Cindy tried to get Autumn to eat something. Autumn refused every time...

"If I eat anything I'll just be more nauseous... They kicked me when I was down..." Autumn said. I clenched my teeth and cut a small piece of the steak off of the chunk of meat before holding the fork up to her mouth. I smiled warmly and chuckled.

"You know... You need to work on your muscles if you don't wanna get beat up again..." I said as I pushed the meat gently to her lips. Autumn's stomach growled and she blushed before gently eating the steak off the fork. I blushed, realizing everyone was staring at me as I fed Autumn. Cindy motioned for me to keep going so I cut up the steak and fed Autumn pieces one by one. She was blushing pretty bad, but I was practically a tomato by now. Autumn winced slightly and touched the cut on her temple. I put the fork down and pulled her hand away from the wound. She was lucky it wasn't deep enough to hit anything important. She winced as I gently touched her wound. I pulled my hand away before taking my soft bandanna off my arm. I dipped it in the water and gently placed it to her temple wound. She winced and shuttered, so I took her hand and squeezed it gently before smiling gently at her. She started to calm down so I cleaned up her scrapes and, eventually, we left the diner to find a group of boys and girls smirking at Autumn... She looked terrified... These had to be the people that were beating her up... Cindy growled under her breath and clenched her hands into fists. Autumn hid behind me as I glared at the group of assholes. 

"Autumn! We wanted to see how you were doing~" one girl said sarcastically. Autumn whimpered and hid her face behind me. 

"What's a wimp like you doing with a bunch of cute boys?" another girl said. 

"Maybe we should teach Autumn her place!" one of the guys said as he cracked him knuckles. I had enough... Just as they started to walk closer, I drew my catalyst, aiming it at the approaching jerk. His eyes widened and he froze. I shot at the ground right in front of his right foot. He flinched and stepped back in fear. 

"Touch a hair on Autumn's head again and, next time, it wont be a warning shot!!" I yelled at the asshole. I was beyond angry by now. I wouldn't let anything happen to Autumn again. The whole group turned on their heels and walked off cautiously. Cindy and the others were staring at me in shock before Autumn gripped the back of my shirt and sniffled... She was crying... I turned around and hugged her gently. 

"Would you like to stay the night with my friends and I...? I wont let anything happen to you... I promise..." I said as I hugged her tighter. She sniffled and snuggled her head into my chest. 

"I'm scared..." she whispered. I smoothed her hair and hummed gently. The others were staring, but I didn't care at the moment. 

"I know... I wont let anything happen to you... I promise..." I whispered. She sniffled and her knees became weak, so I picked her up bridal style and carried her to where we would all be camping from the night. Cindy didn't come with us because it would be dark soon and she had to be home before then. We set up camp and I sat Autumn down in a chair, almost tripping in the process. I rinsed my bandanna and decided to try and make my side of the tent more comfortable for Autumn since she was scared to sleep alone and was scared of Gladio, intimidated by Noctis, and didn't know Iggy too well. I was happy to help her in any way I could so I decided to let her choose where she slept, and she chose to sleep next to me. Ignis was making dinner with the help of Noctis so that he didn't miss any ingredients. I smiled as Autumn started to yawn. 

Eventually, we ate and Autumn crawled into the cozy side of the tent I had made for her. There were extra blankets and pillows so she cuddle up in them. I may not have a blanket tonight, but it was worth it to help Autumn. She curled up in a ball in the blankets and closed her eyes. I laid down next to the pile of blankets and looked at how peaceful Autumn looked. I shivered and she opened her eyes before giving me the softest and heaviest blanket to cuddle up in. I shook my head and tried to hand it back, but she shook her head and looked at my bracelet which covered my bar code. She took my hand gently and started to pull my bracelet off. I looked down in shame, waiting her her to hate me, but instead and touched the bar code gently. I looked up at her sadly to see her smiling with tears in her eyes. She slipped off her spiked bracelet to reveal a bar code like mine. My eyes widened and, without thinking, I hugged her and cried. She hugged me back and she put her bar code up to mine. They shimmered slightly and my eyes widened. 

"We're only one number off in code..." She said with a smile. I looked at her in confusion and decided to ask her what she meant. 

"Only a few MT's break free and have a mind of their own... All their bar codes are close together, but only two MT's have bar codes one number off..." she said with a soft and hopeful smile. I hugged her again and decided to do it. I gently pressed my lips to Autumn's. I had felt like doing that for the entire day... She kissed back and, eventually, we fell asleep hugging each other.
