Chapter 2 (New Beginnings part 2)

(Joshua's P.O.V)

"Joshua. Our plane is gonna leave soon. We need to get on." Nebula said as she shook me by the shoulder. I wasn't quite awake yet. "Joshua come on. You can sleep on the plane." She said as she started to pull on my hand.

"Alright I'm up, I'm up." I said as I grabbed her suitcase. We walked over to ramp 18 and boarded the plane. I put her lugage in the shelf, and sat in my seat. It wasn't long before I fell asleep again. I guess I was more tired than I thought.

After an hour or so I woke up. I felt something on my shoulder so I look to see what it was. When I looked, I saw Nebula resting her head on my shoulder fast asleep. I moved ever so slightly so that I could put my arm around her. She mumbled a little, but didn't wake up. "Mmm, Joshua?" She mumbled. I looked at her, and smiled.

After another hour the plane started to land. I looked over at Nebula again and saw that she was still asleep. "Nebula, time to wake up." I said as I rubbed her shoulder lightly.

"Mmm. Are we there already?" She asked as she ribbed her eyes. It took her a few seconds to notice I had my arm around her. She looked up at me a surprised look on her face.

"You fell asleep on my shoulder. I figured you would be more comfortable with my arm around you." I said with smile.

"Oh." She said as she sat up. "I guess I was a little tired after all." she rubbed her eyes sleepily.

After a few short minutes, the plane landed. "Welcome to Chicago Nebula." I said as we got off the plane.

"Wow. This place looks so different from Coose Bay!" She said in amazement. I chuckled as she looked around franticly.

"Alright Nebula, lets go. We still have to get home." I said. Nebula adjusted her backpack and nodded. I was about to put my hand in my coat pocket but Nebula held my hand. We walked to the parking lot where I left my car. (I guess dad used to hold Nebula's hand when they went somewhere new for her.) I thought as we walked along the parking lot looking for my car.

After we had found my car, we headed to my appertment. We pulled into the parking lot and Nebula looked at the building in wonder. "You live here?!" She asked in wonderment. I smiled at her.

"Yeah. I've lived here since I graduated collage." I answered. We walked into the main entrens and over to the elovatores. I clicked the button to the top floor.

"You live on the top floor?" She asked in suprise. I smiled anf nodded as the door opened. I stept out and Nebula followed behind me. I walked down the hall till I came to door 316. "Huh, 316. Like John 3:16." Nebula said with a smile. I knew what she was talking about. I don't think mom and dad told her I didn't believe. I just nodded and let it be for now. (I'll tell her when she's older, and can understand why.) I thought as I unlocked the door and walked in.

I set Nebula's suitcase by the door as she walked in. "Wow! Joshua, you have such a big appartment." She said as she looked around. I was happy she wasn't nerves moving in with me.

"I'll show you to your room." I said as I walked to her room. She followed right behind me. When I was told that my parents had passed and that I had a right to claim that I was to be Nebula's guardian, I was afraid she would be scared or nerves coming to live with me. But I guess I was worried for nothing. I opened the door to the room I fixed up for her. "This is your bed room Nebula. Feel free to move stuff around to make it more comfrtable." She stepped inside and I couldn't help it but smile when I saw the look on her face.

"My room in Coos Bay wasn't even half this size." She said as she grinned. I was happy that she was happy. She set her backpack on the chair in front of the desk and started puting things away.
