(Nebula's P.O.V)

I don't remember getting in bed last night, but remember falling asleep on the couch watching TV with Joshua. I guess he carried me to bed last night.

I got up early the next day, took a shower, did my hair, and tried to pick out an outfit to go to school in, but I just couldn't figure out if I should wear my faded light blue jeans with my dark pink semi sleeve shirt, my dark blue jeans with my maroon long sleeve shirt and brown leather vest, or my hot pink V neck short sleeve shirt, with my black bell-bottom pants. (I guess I could ask Joshua what he thinks.) I thought.

I had already dried off and had put on my bathrobe over my undergarments. I walked into the living room and found Joshua on the couch dressed and ready for work. "Hey Joshua?" I said as I stopped in the door way. He looked up from his papers when I said his name.

"Why aren't you dressed yet?" He asked. I smiled embarrassed, but I had to ask what he thinks about the outfits I had laid out on my bed.

"I need help picking out an outfit for school." I answered. He shook his head with a smile on his face. I turned and went back to my room as Joshua followed behind me. "I just don't know which one to pick." Joshua looked them over.

"Well, since today is your first day at a new school, I think the dark pink shirt with the faded light blue jeans is the best bet." He said. I smiled, thanked him and shooed him out of my room so I could get dressed. I put on the outfit Joshua picked out and put my history book, math book and geography book in my backpack before heading to the kitchen to grab a quick bit to eat before school.

"That didn't take you long to get ready." Joshua said as he put some coffee in his travel mug.

"I'm used to getting up early and getting ready in a short amount of time. Plus, I got up before you did." I said with a small smirk when I saw the surprised look on Joshua's face. He shook his head before turning to me.

"Nebula, I'm gonna ask you a question, and I want you to answer honestly." He said. I turned my head to look at him. "How do you feel about being at home by yourself for about an hour and a half after school?" He asked a bit worried about my answer.

"I used to stay home by myself after school back in Coos Bay while mom and dad took care of things at the church. I would walk home from school too, but I normally had Max with me walking home, but there were a lot of times I had to walk home by myself. Why?" I answered. I could see that he was relieved to hear that I was okay with it.

"I won't be home before you get out of school, and was a little worried about how you would be, being by yourself for that long." He said. I finished eating my breakfast as he told me this.

"I'll be okay. I mostly just go to my room and do home work, and it normally takes an hour and a half to finish it all." I said as picked up my plate and put it in the sink.

"Okay, good. Now go brush your teeth so I can get you to school on time." He said while giving me a gentle push twords the bathroom. I giggled and went to brush my teeth.

After I brushed my teeth and made sure my hair didn't look funny, I went to the front door, put on my coat, grabbed my backpack and headed out the door with Joshua.

While we were driving I couldn't help but voice my thoughts. "I can't wait to get to school and meet all my new classmates!" I said as I bounced a little in my seat. I looked at Joshua with a big smile on my face. He looked over at me when we stopped at a red light.

"I'm glad your doing so well here already Nebula. I'm happy to see you so happy all the time." He said with a gentle smile on his face. (He reminds me of dad when he smiles like that.) I thought to myself. We turned a few more corners and pulled into the drop off line in front of the school.
