“Alex.”

 “Alex.”

“What?” I groaned as my mother was slightly shaking me awake. I tried to block the brightness but I really couldn’t.

“You should get ready now.” Mum says after jumping off my bed. I glanced over the small clock on my side table and groaned once more. It was just 7 in the morning. What is more important than sleep? I had a rough night last night and I want to sleep the whole day.

“Why are you waking me up so early mum?” I asked trying to sit up and letting a big yawn escape my lips.

“We need to get your things at Diagon Alley and I have an appointment in the ministry.” Mum explained but it was hard to comprehend with. I just nodded and push my covers away.

“Okay mum.” I yawned and she just smiled closing the door behind her.

I dragged myself towards the bathroom for a quick bath and to start the day. While taking a bath Malfoy’s worried expression from last night crept into my mind. I haven’t really seen him like that and I don’t know why I am even making a big deal about it. I sighed and finally getting out of the bath and to my bedroom to get ready.

As I changed into a pair of jeans, a pink sweatshirt and my worn out grey boots. I stared at my reflection on my full body mirror and sighed. My brown hair was still so messy from the bath and my eyes had dark bags under it. I look like a total mess.  Thinking about what happened last night was over my head and it just kept coming back I couldn’t even sleep.

“Alex! Breakfast!” My mum yells from the kitchen. I shake off the thought and grabbed my hair brush and brushed my tangled brown hair.

After brushing my hair I made my way down to the dining room. Mum was standing near the table while she was placing chocolate pancakes on a plate.

“Good Morning sweetie.” Mum smiles sweetly. Finally mum can smile again after dad’s death during the war. The last months were awful, mum couldn’t accept dad’s death and she wanted to kill the deatheater who killed him but she told herself to never say or let that spell slip from her pink lips.

Breakfast was normal as usual mum would tell stories about her years at Hogwarts and being a muggleborn was a bit of a challenge but then again she had friends that helped her through everything. She even told me that Professor Snape was actually nice to her and how he helped mum with potions. It was rather odd that mum was Professor Snape but she did say they were the only ones that understood being an outcast sometimes.

Mum was sad when she heard that Professor Snape had been killed and he did everything to protect Harry Potter. She knew Professor Snape had some motive behind everything and killing Dumbledore wasn’t just for show it was a plan all along.

“I never doubted Severus. I know behind his cold façade he cared more than anyone else.” She ended as she sighed. She must be remembering most of her memories with Professor Snape.

“I never knew he was like that.” I said sadly. I doubted him, I cursed him and I hated him for what he did to Hogwarts last year.
