I stared at Chad's text wondering what to say next. I can't say 'hey' again that would be weird and we'd just be in a cycle of saying hey and nothing else.
I fell back onto my bed staring at the ceiling my eyes wandered to the musical posters I had pinned around my room. Grease, Hamilton, Hairspray, Funny Girl. Wait. Funny Girl. That's it. I just have to ask myself WWBD. What Would Barbra Do? Well she should probably tell Chad to stop raining on her parade, but she would be super confident about it. And that's what I need to do. Be super confident. I picked up my phone and typed out my message with a confident smirk.
What are you up to right now?
Boom! Aced it! I threw my phone back on my bed still smirking. "Whats that look for" My heart stopped. Sharpay. "What look?" I said chuckling nevously. "You were smirking, you never smirk" she leaned off of the door frame and stepped into my room. "Nothing, it was n-nothing" I knew I was stuttering but I couldn't stop. She can't find out about me and Chad yet, if there even is a me and Chad.
My phone chimed on my bed. Her eyes darted towards it, as did her hands, but I was quicker. I snatched my phone and held it close.
"What are you doing Ryan?" she said suspiciously "What are you hiding from me?"
"I'm not hiding anything Sharpay" I turned away so she couldn't see my face "I-I need to do homework"
"I've got my eye on you Ry" She stalked out of my room and I closed the door behind her. I looked at my phone to see a message from Chad.
Homework. Why is maths so hard!?
I chuckled.
Don't worry I'll help you. What question are you stuck on?
