It was Saturday and the Millers were enjoying a scrumptious dinner. Jared was the one who cooked so he was bragging half the time over the food as they ate.

Suddenly, there was a hard knock on the door. The three of them all exchanged glances. Jared stood up from his seat to open the door. When he came back to the kitchen he was with two others that William didn't expect to see again.

"Dear brother-in-law..." Ricky's raspy voice echoed inside the Millers' residence.

"I'm surprised." William plainly said.

"Hey, Uncle Will, who's this chic?" Ryan asked who was pertaining to Hailey and he eyed her with obvious interest. Hailey hadn't met them before and she was already feeling a bit awkward for calling her chic and for the way he stared at her. Jared was already starting to get annoyed, he walked behind his sister's seat when he sensed she was feeling uncomfortable.

"She's Hailey, Ryan. She's my daughter and your cousin."

"Oh." His dark lips were in perfect circles and he shrugged. "Y'got some really good genes Uncle Will and so is Aunt Patty coz she's really hot——"

"Shut your big mouth Ryan." His father——Ricky, finally interrupted.

"It's really a surprise that you're here, Ricky. It had been a long time. May I know why exactly?" William wanted to know right away. It's really odd that the two men came after so many years of not showing up.

"Well about that, I actually plan to talk to you privately if you may."

"Very well. Let's proceed to the living room."

Jared and Hailey were left in the dining area with curiosity and worry in their faces.

After a while they heard a loud thud coming from the door. Before they knew it Ryan and Ricky had already left.

"Dad——"

"They won't be coming around anymore." William said as he entered the dining area again.

"I'll take that as a hell of a good news, dad." Jared said who felt so relieved when Ricky and Ryan were finally gone.

"Why were they here, dad?" Hailey spoke. It was the first time she had seen them and she instantly disliked them.

"They're having troubles with their living. Ricky was jobless and Ryan was too. Their house was sold and the house they rented threw them out. They asked if they could stay here for a couple of weeks but I said no. That would be too much and we're not even close. Even if he's your mother's brother I still don't trust them. They have some issues."

"I hope they won't ever come back though. They really got the nerve to show their faces here." Jared was really pissed and he despises Ryan so much.

"This will be the first and last——" William coughed.

"Dad, you've been coughing for days. You should see a doctor to check up on you."

William shook his head slightly."I'm okay dear. A hot tea will make me feel better."

"I'll make you one." Hailey said and left to make her father a cup of hot tea.

Summer would be approaching soon and Hailey was only too glad that her first semester would be over in a couple of days and Jared was beyond excited for his graduation day happening next week. Hailey and William were really happy for him and he had already sorted things out. He would apply for a job right away after graduation, he didn't want to waste time, he won't let their father do all the work for them.
