Tyler woke up and found Kirsten sleeping peacefully beside him. She looked beautiful as Tyler stared at her intently. Her eyes were closed with a bit of smeared eyeliner, her cheeks were pale and so were her lips. He hadn't stared at her like this for a long time. They have been distant. Staring at her made him wonder what had gone wrong between them.
Everything was good and smooth, until one day she became different. Tyler had been nothing but nice but all Kirsten did was whine all day even with little things and she became too possessive and demanding and Tyler knew he had to stop.
Last night, his plan of finally breaking off with Kirsten didn't go well as planned. They ended off having sex and Tyler hated himself.
"Stop staring at me." Kirsten suddenly spoke, still with her eyes closed.
Tyler was startled and moved back to the head board to give them both enough space.
Even with Kirsten's sour attitude, Tyler still finds himself amused by her in a way.
"What time is it?"
"It's almost 8 in the morning. Get up." Tyler mouthed with a dry voice. He slowly removed her arm on his torso and stood up to open the blinds.
"Don't you think it's too early? It's Sunday and I bet you don't need to work." She sat back up pulling the sheets to cover her bare chest. Irritation clear on her face.
"I have something to work on." He quickly said.
It's a lie. He didn't have any plans the whole day but he had to make something up, he knew Kirsten wouldn't be going anywhere if he tells her he's staying home.
"Then I'll come with you."
"No, you are not." He quickly responded.
"Then I'll wait for you here until you come back."
"You aren't either."
Kirsten stood up as she wrapped her naked body with the blanket. "You're so grumpy, Tyler. Do you want me to show my tits-"
"Don't you even think about it." Tyler said as he held her hand tightly.
"Then stop being so grumpy and rude. You just seem so nice when you see me naked. I might as well be naked everyday just to keep you nice."
Tyler took a heavy sigh, it's only 8 in the morning and yet there they are arguing. "Kirsten, I'm not changing my mind, let's stop this."
"Stop what? Arguing over something stupid?"
"No. This. Us. It's not working anymore and you know damn well that I'm right."
"It will work, Tyler. We can find a way to make this work." She wasn't pleading or crying. She was calm as she said it.
"It can't. Kirsten can't you see? I don't want this anymore, I'm not happy and I wanna be alone." Tyler looked at her, who was just standing infront of him, no emotion.
"Look, I'm sorry. But for now, it just won't work for us." Tyler just wanted to leave that instant and didn't want to argue anymore. It was pointless.
"You're going to humilliate your parents, Tyler. If I were you I'd shut the hell up."
"What's this got to do with them?"
"Well, since you're not aware of it, everything has to do with our parents and their precious business."
"Elaborate." Tyler mouthed.
"Our parents had this deal to share businesses as long as we stay together as a couple, you get the idea. So if we tell them we've broken up, it's the end of of my mom and your Parents' business partnership as well.."
He couldn't believe what he just heard. That explains everything now.
"So all this time it was all an agreement? And I was the only one who didn't know?"
"At first I didn't agree but then I thought about it since things between us were geting serious."
It hurt him knowing his parents had used him as some kind of object for their business, he didn't know they were that desperate.
"Tyler, they only want what's best for us."
"What's best for them."
"Well I'm not going to kill myself thinking about it, they want what's best for us that's for sure. Their businesses are important to them so if you care enough for your parents, you will not ruin anything."
Tyler felt her slender arms around his shoulder. "And incase you've forgotten Ty, we're so perfect for each other."
Tyler wanted to scream at her face, to scream at everybody's faces. He was so confused, so pissed. Going home was a mistake, he should've just stayed in his own home, things could've been much better.
He needed a drink. It would somehow make him feel a bit better and he knew just where to go.
"Tyler, where the fuck are you going?" Kirsten yelled but the door was shut closed and there was no answer.
Away from you Kristen, away from everyone! Tyler went out of his parents' massive house not caring to tell anyone where he was going. Good thing his black car was parked in the garage, he hadn't bathe nor eaten but he didn't care he had to het out of there and he knew exactly where to go
