The months had passed almost immediately and they really tried to move on. Hailey had finally graduated from high school and Jared would be in his fourth year in college and William was trying his very best to make their business as sturdy as possible. Jared had tried many times to convince William that he would work part time but William only declined, William only wanted him to only concentrate on his studies for now. Hailey was able to enter college and took nursing for her course, she wanted to help their father too but no one will hire a 17 year old. William worked all day, working day and night doing paper works, he almost worked non stop but on the inside he was still as broken as ever since Patty died. He misses Patty much more so. For now, all he was thinking of were his precious children. Jared and Hailey misses their mother too but thought only the positive thing that their mother is in a better place now.

Hailey's last class that day ended almost immediately. Indeed college was more challenging but she was a very determined girl. Her professor was telling their class something about 'not forgetting their homework or else he would not accept them in class'. Professor McFields had always been like that, he sees to it that everyone would be responsible individuals.

Hailey walked out of the school campus and noticed a familiar black car parked on the other side of the street. The window rolled down and there was Jared smiling to her. She was delighted to see her big brother. Jared went out of the car and met his sister to the other side of the street. He looked at his sister in admiration wearing her plain white uniform with her hair tied in a tight bun. She looked so much like a lady--well, she really was a lady now. It's Kylie's 18th birthday and little did she know, Jared and William prepared something for her back home.

"What are you doing here, Jar? Don't you have any more classes?" Hailey asked.

"We were dismissed early. I decided to drop by and give the birthday girl a ride home." Jared said and wiggled his thick brows.

"Isn't that too sweet." She mocked but she appreciated that Jared came.

"Told you you're lucky that I'm your brother." Jared said proudly and Hailey laughed. Yes, she was very lucky to have him in her life. He'd been very protective of her and she loves him very much. They have gotten closer than ever.

Jared suddenly put his arm around his sister's shoulder. "Let's just go before I kick someone's ass here." Jared noticed eyes glaring at them, mostly guys who were obviously eyeing his little sister.

"Do you see girls hitting on you, Jar? Hailey said teasingly.

"Of course not. Sis, I haven't mentioned this to you before but the girls here in your school look like brat dolls with their make up a little too over done--no, let me rephrase that. Much too over done."

It was accurate. Hailey had noticed it too. Some of the girls in her school really wore too much make up, even during P.E. class. Their concealer were too much that it would leave traces every time they would laugh, their thick eyebrows and mascara looked so heavy and add up their red lips that could almost pop out. Hailey sometimes wonder how much time they spend on doing them. Hailey on the other hand, was one of the make up free students in her school. She only do her eyebrows which she had practiced before while watching the steps on YouTube. Then the rest was natural. Her creamy white skin was healthy and smooth, her naturally long thick lashes made her green eyes even more emphasized, her heart shaped lips were always free of lipstick during ordinary days and she doesn't even need to put on blush because her cheeks were naturally rosy. And then her long brown mane tied in a messy bun, she looked like a greek goddess lost in time. Guys eyed her with obvious interest and girls envied her.

She had few friends but none of them she considered as real. She suddenly wondered of Milicent, after they graduated it seemed like she had disappeared suddenly. She hadn't called or seen her at least. Hailey wished her best friend was well.
