Time heals, right?

those curled down lips,
the ache of a heart.
Time heals.
The hand without someone to hold,
the room missing a person,
the sleepless nights.
Does time heal?

a friend for loneliness,
a sleeping pill for the night.
Really, does time give that?
Giving the heart someone to beat for,
bringing joy to a miserable life,
getting someone to smile again.
Or is time supposed to make me forget?
