I had apparently fallen asleep because when I woke up we were driving down a long row of trees. We drove down that street for a few more minutes until I saw the biggest house I had ever seen in my life. Like a castle! It was the size of three franklin museums put together! It was made of 14 stories of white marble and a million windows! All in all it was beautiful. When Harlord took me inside I was amazed. There was a chandelier hanging from 37 feet in the air, the walls were the same white marble as the outside and there were heavy red velvet curtains on the windows. While I was still looking around Harlord shouted into the gloom of the main room “Chelsea!” He called. “Yes” answered a voice. “Show the girl to her room” he said. “Yes, sir” the voice replied. Through a doorway came a young woman of about 25, who had blonde hair that was tied back from her face in a waist length braid and blue eyes. “Come with me” she said. She smiled at me with a soft sort of smile and held out her hand. I took it, and she led me up big marble stair case with a gold railing.

When we got to the top of the stairs I was led into a long hallway with the same white marble walls and several large windows looking over a lake in the yard, in the distance I could barely see a garden. I jumped in surprise when I felt myself almost sink into a fluffy blue carpet. “The first and second doors to the right are yours” said Chelsea. She took out a small iron key and unlocked my door. “Thank you” I said. I walked into the room and it took my breath away. It was huge! The ever – present white marble walls made another appearance in the room. The same fluffy blue carpet was also in this room. In the back there were three floor to ceiling windows with three long day beds on each window. Then, in the corner of the room was a big four – poster bed with silky blue sheets. Next to it was a small wooden night stand. There was a tall thin door on the side of my room that Chelsea said was my closet. But the best part of all was the huge floor to ceiling bookshelf filled with books! As you can imagine, I was very happy.

Chelsea led me over into my other room which was half a kitchen and half a bathroom. The kitchen had wooden floors and wood – panel walls contrary to the usual white marble. I liked it, it was warm and cozy inside. (Did I mention it was March and still pretty cold?) It had a sink, coffee maker, stove, and food of course. We walked back into my main room where Chelsea informed me that I was only allowed to stay in these two rooms and not go anywhere without invitation. I didn’t mind much, I mean look at all the things I could do! So when she made sure I understood all the rules, she left. After she shut the door I took a minute to look around and saw something that made me kind of scared. It was a door padlocked, with chains weaving through it. I stepped back from it and just decided to ignore it. I pulled a book out from the shelf called “Oceans and Seas, a book on the water around us”. I sat down on one of the day beds and started to read.
