Wow I've actually gotten some update requests! This is my first story so I think that is pretty cool. Here's chapter 3!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I read for a couple hours and when I looked at my clock it said it was 6:00pm. Lolita began to bark and there was a knock at the door, I sat up and responded “Please, come in”. It was Chelsea “I hope I’m not interrupting you Carly”. “No not at all” I said. She went on to tell me that I was eating dinner with my uncle tonight. She also stated specifically to wear a dress; I looked at her with a confused face. “Your uncle is a stickler for formality” she said. “Oh well” I replied. “I’m living in his house so I guess I owe him something” Chelsea laughed. “Come on let’s go down she said”.

So dressed in a flowy blue gown that went down to my ankles, I descended the stairs (Accompanied by Chelsea of course). She showed me into the dining room and I was about to faint. I let out a little gasp; this place never stopped surprising me. It was an extremely tall, long room with water falling from the walls. The whole floor was surrounded by water except for the center which was dominated by a large black marble platform. On the platform sat a looong dining table and chairs. “Carly” He said from across the table “Come, sit”. We both sat at the heads of the table and I had to admit I was extremely uncomfortable. I felt a cold presence in the room. We ate in silence. His sharp blue eyes watched me, surveying my every move throughout the meal. Was he sizing me up? Somehow knowing that helped me keep an expressionless face. “Carly” Harlord said “You may be dismissed”. “Yes, sir” I said. I may have been expressionless on the outside but I was screaming on the inside. What was that about? You don’t just call someone for dinner and then stare at them the whole meal! Oh well, I guess I would get used to him, Maybe?

After dinner Chelsea accompanied me to my room and showed me the light switch on the wall. After assuring me that I had all breakfast needs in the kitchen she left closing and locking the door behind her. “You’d think people would be more cheerful here” I said absentmindedly to Lolita. “Arf” Lolita answered. I looked around my room and found some silky blue pajamas left on the day bed. I changed and was about to go to bed when something caught my eye. Something had slipped out of my bookshelf and onto the floor, I bent down to study it and found a newspaper clipping.

I took a double take, were the pictures moving? I picked it up and looked at the headline in big, bold caps it read. ALL MEMBERS OF ROYAL FAMILY GONE MISSING! I read the article underneath: All ten daughters of the King and Queen of Atlina have gone missing, Mysterious man sighted, suspicion aroused. Those were the only real important parts of the article, the rest were all conspiracy theories and other mumbo jumbo about being sabotaged or corruption in the royal family.

I wanted to get re-focused and the only way to do that was to read. I found what looked like a history book among all the other fantasy novels and picked it up. Now I looove fantasy and fiction but I'm also a bit of a history nerd. It was my favorite subject in school because of all the different societies and the things that helped them either fall or prosper. I didn't bother to look at the cover I just took the book and crawled into bed, Lolita right beside me. I began reading and falling asleep with every word. I caught something about a country divided into nine nations and each nation governed by a piece of the royal family. Then I saw the country's name, Atlina. "Isn't that what the clipping said..." I yawned.  in my semi - concious state I didn't make the connection. Instead I put the book down and went to sleep, but not for very long.
