Mom ended up bringing in all the boxes in her car later at night, she took some of the boxes to her room and the rest she left in the living room nearest to the entrance. That night I stayed up late talking to Elliot. He seemed like a nice guy who tried to flirt with every 'pretty' girl he saw.
The next morning when I woke up my mom was nowhere to be seen and I just assumed she was at work like every other day. I took a shower and changed into black shorts and a red shirt. It was weird that I was choosing shorts out of all the clothes I had but they just seemed to call out to me. They felt weird on me probably because I almost never wore shorts.
I walked back downstairs and looked around for food but then remembered that we had just moved here and there would be no food here. I sighed and remembered Mrs.Chandler. But she was not my neighbor anymore and she lived 15 hours away. I looked around the kitchen hoping that maybe, just maybe there was some food here but there was nothing.
Everything was near and clean but no food, that was a disappointment. I looked around once again and noticed a piece of paper along with some money. This was probably the only time that I was glad to see the money and the piece of paper. I grabbed the paper which was next to the microwave and read it.
"I'm out for today and left you some money to go buy food or whatever you want to buy with it. Don't forget to unpack." I put the paper back where I had found it and grabbed the money, she had left me $300. With this I could buy more than just food, I put the money in my pocket and threw away the paper.
I decided to start unpacking the boxes in my room but just as I was about to go upstairs there was a knock on the door. I took two steps back and then walked over to open the door. I expected it to be some kids messing with me but Elliot stood there.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"Umm... I really don't know. I just guessed I could stop by."
"So now you're going back to being a serial killer?"
He smiled and awkwardly stood there. "No, my serial killer days are over." He dramatically took a step away from me.
I laughed. "So you really don't know what you're doing here? Do I have to tell you to fuck off again?"
"No, I was actually hoping that we could go on that date you promised me."
"The one that you forced me to promise you." I corrected him.
"Yeah, that one. So what do you want to do?"
"Umm... I don't know. Let's go to the park?"
"Sure, anything you want. Let's go to my house so we can take my car."
"Ok, let me just go get something."
He stepped inside and waited by the door, I rushed upstairs and grabbed the key that my mom had given me last night then went back downstairs, Elliot was still there waiting for me.
"Ok, I'm done, let's go." We stepped outside and walked over to his house.
"So where do you live?" I asked him as we walked down the street.
"Over there." He pointed to the house across the street. It was a big one story house with two cars parked right outside.
"Is that were you also kill those people?" I looked over at him.
"Nah, I have a house 15 minutes from here where I kill them. The walls are stained with blood but other than that it's a pretty cool house." I laughed as he went along with it.
We crossed the street and went over to his house. I grew nervous, hoping that he wouldn't invite me in his house because this was all new to me.
"I gotta go inside to get my keys and you're going in there with me." He grabbed my hand and pulled me in.
