The next morning, I rushed down to where Levi was, and I found him, hunching over a bit. His right hand over his stomach, and as I walked next to him, hearing his breath stagger a bit. From where I could see on his face, he almost had a black eye. My heart sank as I see those wound... was it because of family issues or was it because he got into a fight.
"Levi-"
"Shut up, Hanji." He groans at my name, and I felt the pain behind that groan. "Leave me be."
Sighing, I couldn't just leave him like that. So, I did what I was best known for, prodding into his business. "Levi, just tell me." I ask him, pleading, begging him. But what it did was push him away from me. So, I stayed silent that whole entire time as he suffered in pain.

The school day was normal, except I never seen Levi at lunch. I tried to put it in the back of my head, but I couldn't really stop thinking about him. I feel my heart skip a beat whenever I think of him... could I really be- no... impossible. I could never fall for a bad boy like him.
But it was a boring afternoon. My parents were not home yet, no one to talk to... not even my friends would return a call back. So, I decided to make myself 2 ham and cheese sandwiches and packed in 4 cookies, why? Because I love chocolate chip cookies so much. Refilling my water bottle with ice and water, and decided to explore the forest that surrounded us.

Hearing the birds chirp away, the trees swaying in the wind... the warmth from the dense forest... it seemed so peaceful. I could sleep here... if I could. But wandering around, I saw this huge oak tree... looking up, I saw a tree-house. A ladder was dropped down, so I assumed that it's been abandoned for some time.
Curiosity got the best of me, so I ensure that my back was secured and I climbed up the ladder. Feeling it creak under me, my heartbeat raced as the worst case scenario popped into my head. What if the rope snapped and I dropped down to my death? Or if it snaps and I break a bone, and no one comes to rescue me?
Shaking that fear away, I continued my trek, finally reaching the top. Grunting, I moved my body in a very comfortable way to open the hatch above me. As I pushed and moved up the ladder, I scanned the room. I only was granted seeing Levi in the middle of him taking his shirt off.
"Gah!" I shout, quickly shutting my eyes. Never seen a boy without his shirt off... unless it was at a pool.
"H-Hanji?" His voice questioned me as I felt footsteps walking towards me and I felt his hands under my armpits and heaving me up. My face burned with flames of embarrassment as he carried me and I carefully fluttered my eyes open.
Levi's arms were still around me, and surprisingly, his shirt was off. I would've thought he would put it back on once my presence was known. "L-Levi..." I tried to hide my face, but it was impossible to not gaze at his abs. The one thing that disturbed the sight was a few bruise marks and clean cut marks that had dried blood surrounding the wound.
He tilts his head in curiosity, his blue-gray eyes analyzing me. "How did you find this place?"
Avoiding his curious eyes, I answered him. "I-I decided to go for a walk... and I accidentally found this place..."
"Well... you found my secret hiding spot. I guess... it's not secret, now that you know this tree-house..." My eyes kept glancing down at his wounds... and I could only feel guilt. Levi also looks down, "It's fine... it doesn't hurt anymore."
I looked deep into his eyes, "Levi... what happened?"
He sighs, reaching for my water bottle. "Later..." He groans out, and I immediately searched for a small towel.
Once I found it, I took the water bottle, poured some on the towel and started to clean Levi's wounds. He groaned, but he takes the water bottle and holds it up to his eye. At least the blood was dry. If it wasn't... I would've been worried.
"So... you're taking care of me, I guess." He scoffs out as he winces at the pain. "Thanks... I guess..."
"Thank me later." I mumbled to him. "Besides... what happened to you, Levi? How did you get badly injured like this?"
When I turned to face him, he looks away, attempting to not look at me in the eyes. "I-It doesn't matter to you, Hanji. Really..."
"Just tell me-"
"No!" His voice raised and I jumped back. He growled in anger, but it all faded away and he leaned against the wall. "No..." He says in a soft tone, like he regretted yelling at me. "Listen, I'm sorry, Hanji... but I can't tell you. If I do... you'll get in trouble..."
By some sort of instinct, I reached for his hand, feeling it cold. "You don't have to worry about me... I can handle myself." I say, slowly looking down at our hands. When I saw them touching... I grew warm with embarrassment and pulled it away from him. "Eek..."
Levi chuckles a bit, which sounded so cute... it wasn't what I expected from him... a small chuckle from a bad boy like him. "You're strong, I can tell. I like that. But, the things that I'm trying to protect you from... Hanji, you can't stand up against them. It's much safer for you if you stayed out of my business. Just until... I know you're safe."
He reaches for my hand and when he stared at me with his eyes... I suddenly was overwhelmed with this feeling of calmness. "L-Levi..."
"Just for now. Once I know that everything's safe, I'll tell you, okay?"
Nodding, I leaned back, seeing that he was trying to protect me from harm. A self-less person... and he wasn't as bad as I thought he was... "Okay..." Remembering my snacks, I unzipped my bag, giving half of my cookies to Levi, though it broke my heart to do so.
Levi stared down at it like it was poison. "A-Are you sure?"
I smiled at him, "Yeah, I'm okay with it."
He takes it, taking a few bites. I see that small smirk appearing on the side of his mouth. "Did you bake this or what?"
Chuckling softly, I admitted it. "Yeah... kinda by myself..."
"Kinda?"
"Yeah... I may or may not had to rely on my mom to make sure they didn't burn." Chuckling nervously, I see him smile a bit, scoffing at my stupid mistake. "I know... I'm clumsy like that..."
"It's cool." Looking up to him, he smirks a bit. "It's nice to know you're not some kind of person that prods everyone about everything and not be perfect. Everyone has their flaws... and I see that you're not like anyone else I ever met. Not like my team... not like anyone else. You're... special..."
"S-Special?" He nods as he winces when he moved his body. I couldn't handle it, watching him in pain while he couldn't tell me why. Frustrating... that's how I feel in a helpless situation, where I can do nothing but watch.
He nods, "Yeah. Special... and I do want to talk to you more." He takes out his phone and pushes some numbers before showing me his phone number. "If you ever want to talk to me... I'm cool with it, okay?"
Smiling, I take my phone out and inputted his number. "T-Thanks." My words fumbled out of my mouth as I finally had his number.
Levi on the other hand didn't care. He leaned back and started to eat the cookies. "And... if you're not too busy this Saturday... wanna hang out with me? I hope my 'influences' won't affect your cheerful self."
Giggling softly, I nodded. "I'll hang out with you. My parents will be out this Saturday, and it's not like I have friends here... not ones that I know very much..."
His smirks made everything better. "Okay... my house, end of the culdesac. It looks pretty old... meet me there, okay? 10 am. Don't be early, don't be late."
"I'll be there..." I say, nodding at him.
We stayed there for hours, until nightfall came. And I felt that every bad idea I had about Levi disappeared as those hours passed. He wasn't an all time bad boy...
