You stirred awake, grumbling at the sun shining through the window, which was blaring in your eyes. You pulled the blanket up to your neck. To this, you felt a tingling sensation on your neck. Your eyes widened, and you pushed the blanket away. Stumbling out of the bedroom and into the bathroom, you flicked the lights on. With the lights on, the mirror revealed a bite mark on your neck. Your face turned a deep red.
'What the hell?! Whose teeth are those?! Those are so sharp! Wait- Did Four and I-'
You snapped out of your thoughts when you heard a high-pitched voice.
"(Y/N)! Are you alright?" You turned to face Four.
With wide eyes, you rushed to Four. "Four! What is this?" You gestured to the mark on your neck, frantic. You narrowed your eyes, then they shot open at the thought. You grabbed his shoulders. "Did we-"
"Wh-What? No!" He blushed. "I just..." his eyes fell on the bite mark as he hesitated, purple staining his face. Unlike you, he remembered so clearly what happened the night before.
He only chuckled and rested his hands on yours. "We had fun, but not in that way." He winked. You blushed heavily. "But c'mon, I made us coffee." You stayed silent and nodded.
He took one of your hands in his blue one, and led you down the stairs, to where there was a small wooden table with two chairs at both ends, in the kitchen area.
Four rushed ahead of you and pulled out a chair, gesturing for you to sit. You giggled softly and sat down in the seat that he had pulled for you.
He slightly pushed the chair in, then nuzzled his blue face into the crook of your neck, humming into your hair. You giggled, blushing lightly. He pushed closer to you and placed small kisses on your neck. Saying his name between giggles, you playfully smacked his arm, as to which he chuckled and pulled away.
"Sorry, you're just too cute." Four teased. He headed back over to the chair on the other end of the table, then took a seat. You took a moment to observe his mug. It read, 'best host ever'. You chuckled at that, and he looked down at his mug.
"Oh, this?" He gestured, "X gave it to me the day we left our home to come and host here." He chuckled.
Your eyes swirled with curiosity. "What was your old home like?" You beckoned.
Four took a sip of his coffee. "It was okay, pretty bland. Everyone was numbers or variables, like X and I." You nodded. "That's why it was so exciting to come and host here. There would be different types of species besides numbers, and look at you! You're so different and amazing. I never would think to meet you here." He smiled warmly from across the table.
You flashed him a happy smile, flattered by his words. "th-thank you...No one has ever said something like that to me..."
Four smiled, then asked, "Wait, then where are you from?"
You froze. You weren't exactly from the nicest of places.
You sighed and put your mug down, and set your eyes to your lap. "I don't remember where I was from, all I know is that my family didn't want me." You held back tears. "I was raised by complete strangers who, never even cared for me. So, when I was old enough to think correctly, I set out for the world, find a better place to live. One day I just came across this place."
Four looked at you with sympathy in his eyes. "That must suck."
"You bet." You grinned.
He shook thoughts from his head. "Don't listen to idiots like those. If no one seems to be on your side, just think of me, because I'm always going to be there for you," He stood up and slammed his hands on the table. "And if anyone's bothering you, I'll kill them." His eyes flickered with rage.
You let out a small smile. "Four...you don't have to do that for me."
He turned to you with a sudden softness in his eyes. "You don't understand how important you are to me. When I first met you, I knew you were going to be the one." You blushed and looked up at him with wide eyes. "I'd hate for you to think badly about yourself. You should be treated way better than this. Not like how you're currently being treated." He got up and pulled you to the nearby couch. He sat down, then forced you down into his lap. By this time, you were blushing dark red.
"I'm sorry if I scared you, I just...really love you so much." He slid his arms to your neck and pulled you down into a kiss. It stunned you at first, then you leaned onto him, resting your hands on both of his shoulders.
"...Four? (Y/N)?" A soft voice startled you both.
You both turned to see the yellow figure of X. You both blushed.
~
You walked with Four back to competition grounds.
This time, you stood confidently in holding his hand, but still keeping your usual posture.
You scanned the grounds for Match, excited to tell her the news. You spotted her, talking with Bubble and Ruby.
You squeezed his hand, as to which he turned to you and let a 'hm?'
"I'll be off." You stated casually. He nodded and leaned in to kiss your cheek.
You shyly smiled and walked away. Match noticed you and called to you.
"Well, how'd it go?!" She exclaimed, overexcited.
You smiled and blushed, rubbing the back of your head. "Thank you, guys..."
They all gasped, then followed by a scream of joy.
"FLOWER!!! COME TO HEAR THE NEWS!" Match called.
Flower jogged over to your little crowd. "What's wrong?"
"Guess who like, got a boyfriend!!!" Match squealed.
Flower's eyes sparkled. "Oh, my gardener! Really?!" She looked to you, and you nodded a 'yes'.
Flower's smile fell for a moment. "Wait...what do we do now, then?"
They all looked to her. "How about we continue to make their love for each other like, stronger!"
The group squealed in agreement and all high-fived. You smiled warmly.
This was honestly all you could imagine in for a relationship. A compatible love, and your girls to back you up.
