Nudity Not Allowed :: Two

   My career is going nowhere, I thought as I crumpled up yet another piece of paper that had my novel ideas scrawled all over it in messing, non-eligible writing. I sighed, resting my head on the palm of my hand and closed my eyes. I was never going to publish a book, no matter how hard I tried.

    "Tantrum," Hayden said, bending over to look in my refrigerator, "You're all out of milk." He pulled out an empty plastic jug and shook it. A few clumps of expired milk jostled around the container. "Unless you call these chunks milk."

    "I haven't had time to shop." I told him, ripping off another sheet of notebook paper and placing it in front of me. I had one month to submit a plot to the publishing company, or else I wouldn't have a shot at being published by them.

    "What about food? Surely, we both can't starve to death." Hayden closed the fridge and I looked up at him, now noticing that he was naked except for the small white towel that was covering from his hips down to his knees.

    My mouth went dry, and I had to swallow a few times before I answered. "I'll go shopping later on. Just order some take-out or something," I paused, pointing to where I kept the menus, "Nothing over twenty dollars, Hayden."

    I was replied too with a grunt while he sauntered over to the coffee table and plucked a brochure out of the magazine holder. I sat up in the kitchen chair and began to jot down some ideas for my novel. It couldn't be cliched, had to have at least 50,000 words (not including a prologue or epilogue, mind you), and it had to be nothing like the other books that have already been published.

    "Tantrum, what's got you all silent over there? Earlier you wouldn't shut up about me being the opposite gender." He paused and made a sound, "Are you sure you're not lesbian?"

    I turned around in my chair, pursing my lips. "Please stop running your mouth before it falls off and you have to chase it China. On second thought, please do. Because then you'd be around the world from me."

    He tsked, "Tantrum's got some attitude."

    I paused, rethinking my words. I was never this bitchy to anyone. Sure, there were moments with my mom where I actually stood up for myself, but never with anyone outside of my family. Not even my boyfriend, Lee.

    "I'm sorry. That was rude of me," I turned back in my chair, focusing on the piece of paper in front of me. "Just, go order us some dinner."

    And with that, he reluctantly complied about my commands and used my cell phone to call the Chinese restaurant since never he, or this apartment possessed a telephone.

    "Pass the orange chicken."

    "Put some clothes on."

    "Chicken first, Tantrum."

    "No, clothes first."

     "You're no fun, you know that, right?"

    I scoffed. "As if. You're just really annoying."

    "It hasn't been even a day yet and you're at my throat with a knife," He leaned across the table and snatched the orange chicken which had been sitting next to my hand, "I'd hate to see you after a week."
