Stephanie's POV
"How'd it go?" Corbyn asked as we emerged from the recording room. I couldn't stop smiling. "It's one of my favourites, honestly. It's called Copycat" I say, the happiness was clear in my voice. "Can we hear it?" Daniel asks. I think about playing it acoustic or even getting my box drum for my room. We had an idea of the beat so it wouldn't be hard to show them. "Surely one of you can play a box drum?" I asked Zach and Jack. Jack nods so I head downstairs and into my room and grabbed the drum and bought it upstairs. "Zach play guitar again please" I ask, he smiles at me and goes back into the recording room and returns with the guitar. We mess around trying to find the general beat for the song, once we figure it out it was go time.
By the end of the song, everyone was shocked at how it turned out. "Maybe it's their genetics, they're both so talented" Kayla whispers to Jordan and he nods in agreement. "You guys! That was amazing" She said to us getting up and hugging me. The lights start flicking back on and we suddenly have electricity again. "The power, you can turn the electricity on with your voice" Corbyn laughs. I do a sassy pose causing the boys to laugh. We turn the TV to hear that it should be safe to leave by the end of the night. It kinda upset me that I couldn't spend more time with the boys, even though they have been here for three days. "Stay for dinner at least, I'll cook us some pizza" Jordan says, getting up and leaving to go to the kitchen. Zach heads back to put the guitar away and Jack puts the box drum away for me. I follow Zach into the recording room. "Thank you, for the last couple of days. They've been amazing" I whisper softly. He hangs my guitar up and turns to hug me. "Thanks for putting up with us, I enjoyed every second with you" He whispers back. I gently pull away from our hug and he pushes my hair behind my ear, I couldn't help but get lost in his eyes. Before I knew it, he kissed me. It was soft yet passionate and I still felt the same sparks. We pull apart and I grab his hand leading us back to the living room. We went towards the window, the rain was significantly lighter and the bolts of lightening were less frequent, but still calming. My obsession with storms grew since moving to Los Angeles as they weren't as often as in Melbourne. "They're literally so cute" I hear Kayla quietly, barely above a whisper. I didn't think she wanted us to hear. I look up at Zach as a flash of lightening lit up his face, he looks back down at me and gives me a soft smile. "Alright loverbirds help us clean up" Jordan demands, causing Zach and I to separate. I grab all the pillows and blankets that belong in my room and head downstairs. There was a lot of blankets and I couldn't really see where I was going but I was trusting my instincts of where the steps were. It was a poor decision really, because before I knew it I slipped and hit my head of the previous step, and everything started to go black.
Jack's POV
We were all packing everything we used up, and taking it to were it belongs. Stephanie had grabbed everything for her room and set to go down stairs. She had a lot of things and appeared to be struggling, but refused to have anyone help her. I was taking the last two pillows into the guest room until there was a loud thud coming from Stephanie's room. I dropped the pillows and ran to the stairs to see Steph laying there, her head bleeding and her eyes shut. "Yo guys help" I yelled out. I hear plenty of footsteps as everyone stood at the top of the stairs, sharing looks of concern. I pick her up bridal style and carried her back up to the living room. "What happened to her?" Jordan asks, running his hand through his hair. I place her gently on the couch and notice the amount of blood coming from the back of her hair. "I don't know man I just heard a bang and saw her laying there" I replied. Kayla noticed the amount of blood and ran to the bathroom to get a towel. Jordan disappeared into the kitchen to get ice. "Look at her fitbit, watch her heart rate" Jordan said, placing the ice wrapped in a tea towel on her forehead. I lift her limp wrist up and tap the screen of her fitbit. "73 beats a minute" I say to Jordan, his concern increasing. "It's normally in the 90s, it's dropping" Jordan explains, his stress levels rising. Kayla looks back at that towel to see the towel covered in blood. "She's gonna need stitches she's bleeding so much" she quietly explains. Jordan disappears yet again to get a new towel. He places it on the back of her head and picks her up bridal style. "I'm taking her to the hospital, stay or come I don't care just be fast" Jordan says, we all follow him and Kayla quickly runs to her apartment and got her car keys so everyone could go. Jordan drives and I sit in the front seat with him. Zach and Jonah were in the back seat, with Stephanie laying across them, her head on the towel in Zachs lap. The rest with Kayla in her car.
The ride to hospital was quiet, no one uttered a word. I looked back at Zach a few times and he was crying, Jonah silently was rubbing his shoulder, comforting him. We got given a room almost immediately and we were now only waiting for her to finish getting stitches. The nurse directed us to a private waiting room, just so if fans happened to show up, we didn't have to worry. We've only been waiting for 20 minutes but it seems like forever. A doctor rushed into the waiting room, bringing everyone back to reality. "Stephanie has lost a lot of blood, she is in a stable condition. We are just waiting to finish the blood transplant then you can see her. Three people at a time only, please" The doctor explained. We all exchanged stressed looks, Zachs eyes were red and puffy. He sat by himself and didn't let anyone sit near him. My phone vibrated and I saw a text from my dad.
Dad: Is she okay?
The text can with a screenshot of Hollywood Fix's twitter, they tweeted a picture of Zach carrying Stephanie into the hospital. Captioned with '@imzachherron carrying @stephacarter into Hollywood Regional Hospital with the rest of @whydontwemusic and @jordancarter00. ' the replies weren't crazy, just people asking and hoping is she's okay. From the way the photo was taken you couldn't see the blood-covered towel under her head, so I doubt many people knew what was going on.
Jack: she is in hospital, she slipped and hit her head on the staircase. She has had stitches and they are just finishing a blood transplant.
I look up to see Jordan on the phone to someone, I was assuming Matt. He was able to fly here despite the storm, as it was clear enough by the time the plane was just before he was scheduled to landed. Jordan seemed on edge but was trying to remain calm for whoever he was speaking to. "Get an uber to Hollywood Regional Hospital, I refuse to leave until Steph is okay. I'll see you soon Matt" He says, hanging up the phone. He slouched back in his chair and then the doctor came back in. "Her body accepted the blood and she is okay and awake. Three people may see her now" He said, waiting for some of us to get up. I'm pretty sure it didn't need discussion that Jordan, Zach and I will see her first. We silently got and followed the doctor into her room. When the door opened she was sitting up talking to the nurse. It feels so good to see her awake and okay again. She looks over at us as we enter the room. "Whoops?" she lets out a slight laugh. We take a seat next to her bed, before the nurse started to talk to us. "So there is a few concerns we have, about her health condition, first being her weight" the nurse said, causing Steph to roll her eyes. I never really noticed whole unbelievably skinny she was. She was around 5'1 and it wouldn't surprise me if she was less than 100 pounds. "She is extremely underweight, she weighs around 88 pounds. Assuming because you were the first in you know her the best. Does she have any eating disorders?" I could see Steph was getting more annoyed everytime the nurse opened her mouth. "She was bulimic for about two years, when she was 10 until 12. She is perfectly fine now, she has an extremely high metabolism and can eat literally anything and not gain weight." Jordan answered. Stephanie looked like she was going to attack the nurse if she said anything again. "Could you have like talked about this while I was unconscious? I get that I'm skinny but I don't like it when people point it out" Stephanie said. Jordan sighed and reached into his pocket and chucks her a packet of gum her eyes light up as she takes a few pieces and throws it back at him. The nurse talks to Jordan some more and Stephanie just sat there blowing bubbles of gum.
