Damien wanted to teach me how to drive. I knew that. I didn't know that he'd be knocking at the door to the hotel room telling me to get ready at 3 A.M. If I had known that this would happen, I would have slept during the day. But now, at 3:30, I was in the shower trying to hurry, while Damien sat in my hotel room talking to Oli. I got out and started getting dressed, I could hear the conversation in the other room. I felt bad listening in... Oh who am I kidding, I love drama. As I was getting ready, I listened to the conversation.
"Look Damien, Nick is hiding something. It isn't bad, but I want to know. If you could just get information out of him, it would be nice. I have a feeling..." he trailed off and soon I was out of the bathroom and headed downstairs.
"So nick, How did you sleep?" Damien chuckled as we stood in the elevator. I punched his arm gently. "Fine until you woke me up," I said laughing. "But it was nice. Oli and I watched a movie 'til we fell asleep." He nodded and we walked out of the elevator.
"He told me about what happened. That's not how we wanted you to meet our mother. We didn't want you to meet her at all"
I stood there in shock. 'Our mother' The words repeated in my head until my sleep deprived brain clicked the pieces together. "You guys are siblings." He nodded. "Twins. Not identical if you didn't already realize that. We even have different fathers. That would be why my brother was so harsh with her. Twins can have different fathers in a phenomenon called" I cut him off. "Heteroparental superfecundation." He nodded. "We were three or four when our mother visited us the first time. We were six when she started being an ass to us on visiting days. We were seven when we found out why she left us. Not just cause our trackers were blank, but because we had different fathers."
We walked to the car. He checked his phone and when he put it down he was shaking. I wondered if he was okay but when I asked he just nodded, and I dropped it. He taught me how to drive and when we got back SHE was standing in the hotel lobby. Soon I saw that she was holding Oli's arm.
"I think it's time we have a chat."
