Chapter 1
The Johnson's:The Not So Perfect Family
James has just came home from working a long day. He did a couple drug busts, stop a couple robberies, gave a few tickets, and maybe a security for safety at the schools to make sure the small kids got home safe. Each day as a police officer is different. James enters the kitchen and grabs a beer out the fridge. Plops down on the couch with an exhaustion. He flips through the channels to try to find something of interest to watch. James isn't usually home before the kids but today was a special day. It was Rose birthday. He was happy cause he gets to come home early for holidays or special occasions.
Rose has just turned 14 today. She's very pretty. Light skin with freckles on her face. She has beautiful curly hair. Grey eyes that changes colors. She has a nice body build too. Rose was really excited for her birthday. She been waiting on this present from her dad forever. Her dad gave all the girls the same present on their 14th birthday. Rose couldn't wait to get to the house.
Later on in the evening the whole family is at home. They take Rose to her favorite dinner for her birthday. Rose collects all the presents from her sisters and mother. She was surprised cause her sisters usually don't give her anything. She was just excited to go home and see what her dad had brought her.
When the family arrives home James tells Rose to go to the basement. Rose races down to the basement an patiently waits for her father. James walks down the stairs. Rose stood up and excitement was written all over her face. James gave her a blind fold to put on her face. Rose now nervous for the surprise but anxious. James tells Rose to sit down and relax. Rose thought this was weird but she did as her father said. James begun to take her pants off. "Daddy, what are you doing?" Rose screamed.
Even though she screamed no one could hear her over the music that plays. James slaps her and replies, " Shut up. I'm teaching you how to be a woman." Her father no longer looked the same. He looked like a monster over her. Raping her over and over. Hours it felt like an lifetime.
Each thrust that he forced brought great pain to Rose. All she wanted was for it to be over. She couldn't believe that she was going through this. To be raped is one thing and horrible enough as it is. To be raped by your father is something that words can't even express. It brings a new level of cruel, foul, and degrading. You always think that your father is supposed to protect you. Not to be the person who you need protection from.
Only thing Rose could do was cry. She thought that if she cried that it would stop. She was wrong about that. It's like seeing her cry aroused him even more. She couldn't move her body to get away. Her father had his body weight on her. Rose wanted to scream but out of fear she couldn't. She never felt so defenseless. So hopeless. The fear she had was like no other.
The raping just never ended. Rose just thought about her sisters. That made her cry worse. Why didn't her sisters save her. More importantly why didn't they save each other. Now everything make sense. When Monica had turned fourteen last year she was down here with daddy. Dad told mom, Brooklyn, and I to go do the grocery shopping. By time we got back Monica was upstairs. Rose realized that her father had raped Monica too. Then her mind drifted to Brooklyn. Brooklyn was down here in the basement all night. She could only imagine the pain her sisters endured.
After he finished he turns and says this "stays between me and your sisters. If your mother finds out you'll be sorry. Now take a shower you stink." Rose has never been so scared.
