The Johnson's: The Not So Perfect Family
Chapter 16
The paramedics rushed in to try to save Winter. It was so much blood. They keep trying to revive her. It seem like with every attempt it wasn't working. Winter body just laid there stiff. Motionless. Brooklyn yelling and crying. Life seems to be flashing before their eyes.
Monica gets off the bus to see her house surrounded by police cars and paramedics. Monica runs over there. Under the yellow tape she ran. The police officer stopped her in her tracks. “Ma’am you can't go in there.”
“What do you mean? This is my house!” Monica yelled.
“Ma’am I'm sorry I just can't let you in.” police officer stated.
“I demand for me to speak to my mother and sister right now!” Monica yells.
Brooklyn comes over, “This is my sister dumbass!” Brooklyn yells.
“What's going on Brooklyn?” Monica voice panicky and scared.
“Mom. She's unconscious. Someone tried to kill her.” Brooklyn and Monica cried.
The paramedics worked hard to get Winter stable again. With every attempt it failed. There was no reviving Winter. Winter was pronounced dead at the scene. The girls tried running to their mother, but it was no use. They had to take her to the lab.
Brooklyn tries to wrap her head around what is going on. It pissed her off that she has to be dragged downtown for questioning. She was done with the police and the whole system altogether. All she wanted was for revenge to happen. Brooklyn couldn't wait on Karma.
Officer put Brooklyn inside of an interrogation room. Brooklyn wasn't nervous at all. She was growing more and more piss as she waited. Then here comes detective Julie. The sight of her enraged Brooklyn. Brooklyn was smart enough not to show it. Well, she tried too rather.
“Brooklyn, I'm so sorry about your mother.” Julie said.
“Can we hurry this up. I have a house to clean and a funeral to plan.” Brooklyn voice sounded angry.
“I will try to make it as quick as possible.” Julie responded.
Brooklyn took a sip of her water. She really wanted to scream and punch Julie to death. She knew her mother wouldn't want her to react that way. She had to be calm and gentle. It was so hard. All Brooklyn could do is picture her mother body laying there.
“Brooklyn do you know anyone who want your mother dead?” Julie questioned.
“Other than my father no.” Brooklyn wanted to say something, but she bit her tongue though.
“You think that your father killed your mother?” Julie wondered.
“Either he did it or he made someone do it.” Brooklyn replied.
“Well, what do you want to happen now?” Julie nagged.
“Bitch I want him to suffer. Who ever else that played a part too.” Brooklyn yelled.
“Okay Brooklyn.” Julie stated.
“Am I free to go?” Brooklyn said angrily.
“Yes.” Julie said as she got up.
Brooklyn stormed out and called Stacey to come pick her up at the station. Brooklyn told her to make Monica come too. She is not to be alone at all. Monica is to be either with Brooklyn or Stacey. No one is to be trusted. Stacey agreed with her. About ten minutes later Stacey pulls up.
“Where are we going?” Stacey asked.
“To the hospital. If anyone is going to tell Rose about our mother it's going to be us.” Brooklyn stated.
“Monica, from now on you are to be only with me and Stacey. We will come pick you up after school. If something is to come up, you are to ask a teacher to drop you off at the hospital. Understand me?” Brooklyn said to Monica.
Monica shook her head yes. Brooklyn was on fire about her mom. The audacity this bitch Julie had to come talk to her. Brooklyn knew how to play this game from now on. Either you play right or you die. Ain't no more being nice. That bitch Julie is going to catch hell.
They make it up to the hospital and they sign in. The walk to Rose room seem like it took forever. When they got there Rose was gone and someone else was in her room. This made them panic. Where the hell could Rose be? Girls rushed up and down the hall looking for Rose. They finally came across a nurse.
“Excuse me nurse I'm looking for my sister Rose. It seems like they move her to another room.” Brooklyn could barely breathe in between words.
“The Doctor tried to call you guys. She is on our Maturity floor. She had the baby about an hour ago.” The nurse said.
“Can you take us up there please?” Stacey asked.
“Yes. I was just going up there myself.” The nurse agreed.
Suddenly the bad news turned good for a few minutes. The baby was finally here. They all were excited. Especially Rose excitement was through the roof. Then Brooklyn thought about their mom. Reality set back in. Their mom was missing the opportunity.
When they knocked on the door and seen Rose she was sleeping so peacefully. The baby looked pretty. So breathtaking. Girls were happy that the baby was here. The nurse walked out the door.
“Now how do we tell her that mom is dead?” Monica said quietly.
“You won't have to.” A familiar voice said coming from the other bedside.
The shadow started walking from behind the curtain. To everyone disbelief it was Winter. She wasn't dead. That lady lived and out smarter all the paramedics. The police officers too. Especially happy that she outsmarted Julie. The kids looked shocked and happy.
