Micheal Banes
There I sat on the floor like a complete idiot, with spilled food on my face and a very happy baby. "Oh you think throwing food at daddy's face is funny?" She smiled more. It's been so long since I've done this with her and now I see teeth coming in. "It's not funny." She sat down and babbled like she was actually saying something to me. "How can it be funny? Give me a good reason." She held her fingers out and babbled more nonsense. "Your point is irrelevant let's move on."
It was the weirdest thing I've done but I was loving every second of it. Her bright eyes looked at me as she started crawling away. "Hey! We're not done here young lady! You better crawl back here this instant." I followed closely behind her but then she stopped and looked at me once again.
"Dada?" My heart dropped, my throat got a lump, my breath left. She really said her first word. "W-What?" My ears couldn't believe it, she was growing up. "Dada!!" She screeched with a big drool smile on her face. "Yes I'm dada! That's right baby!" I picked her up hugging her close.
Then I became my sister. I picked up the phone and dialed my mom's number.
"Mom, you won't believe what just happened."

Monica RhodesI was stuffing my face with chocolate in my room as Luna yelled at Anthony to get out. I haven't spoken to him since that day and he's been coming over here trying to talk to me like it was all good. "No Tony! She really doesn't want to see you right now!" She stressed for the hundredth time but he still doesn't listen.
"Dammit Luna! She's my sister I want to make things right with her!" Shuffling was heard. "Come back next time, okay?" She told him. "That's all you tell me and I've been doing it for a while now." He yelled at her. I felt like a kid in her room hearing her parents fight. Heavy footsteps made their way upstairs followed my lighter ones. "Don' you dare open that door, Anthony."
"You can't tell me what to do now move before you and the door fall in." The door knob juggled before opening. "Sis, I'm sorry! I am a dick for saying what I did and I want to make it up to you! You're my only sibling and we're supposed to be together no matter what and I fucked it up." I honestly do feel bad for him. He was trying and I was just putting him down.
"Why did you say that out of all the things in the world." He sighs. "I honestly don't know, you know when we argued as kids, I would always find the one thing to make you feel terrible about yourself. That's what I did and I don't want to do that again, mom already treats you like shit, I was more wrong for saying that."
He sat on the bed next to me. "Buy me ice cream and we have a deal." With that he hugged me. "I love you so much sis. I won't mess up this bad again." Patting his back he kissed my cheek. "I'll go get your ice cream." He got up, passing Luna like she wasn't even there. Her eyes held hurt but she didn't show it. "Did something happen between you two?" She shrugged. "Nothing, he's been ignoring me since the day I talked to him about what he said to you."
I sat up. "What are you going to do about this?" She shrugged sitting on the bed with me. "Nothing, if he wants to be like this then so be it." It was wrong that Tony couldn't control his anger. "He might loose her for good if he keeps doing this."l think you two should talk, like sit down and have a conversation about this."
My phone started ringing and it was my boss. "Shh!" I answered the phone.
"Hello, sir." I spoke professionally to him.
"It's safe to come back to work now, I have this under control now." When he spoke, I heard a baby's babble in the background before he spoke in a soft whisper. "Princess that's daddy's work you can't write on that." My heart stopped, he really does have a child.
"Okay then see you tomorrow." I hung up, looking at Luna. "What happened?" She rushed out. "He really does have a child." So the rumors were true; he is a cheater. "You were always one to need actual evidence to believe." She pats my back. She was right.
"I also heard that he treated his daughter like shit too." I looked at her. That was hard to believe because he spoke to her so kindly on the phone. "Oh yeah? Who told you that?" I asked. "A woman who use to baby sit his daughter for 4 months, she said she called him to tell him that his kid was crying and that she wants him but he hung up on her." I don't believe this one as much.
"That could be any woman who doesn't like him. Show me facts then we can talk about that one." Luna rolled her eyes, eating piece of my chocolate. "Last time I checked this is mine." I took the chocolate away but she took it back. "And last time I checked, what's mine is yours, it's the best friend role number 3 section b." I flicked her head making her smile. "You know you love me baby mama."
I got up smiling. "Yeah I do." Looking through my closet, I finally got something to wear for tomorrow. I am always prepared for these thing, the complete opposite from Luna who waits til last minute and gets something. "When you go to work tomorrow just remember that he has a kid and he's a cheater."
"How could I forget, that's all you tell me."
