Micheal Banes

Luna let us in their apartment. "She'll be home soon." She told me, giving me something to drink. "Thank you." When I sat with Andrea in my hands, Luna sat with me and gave me a look. "Is something wrong?" All she did was sigh. "Look, Micheal, you seem like a nice guy, the tabloids got you all wrong and I'm thankful for that, I really am. You seem to really like my sister and she seems to like you too." Oh, she and I are having that talk. 

"Does it bother you that I have a child?" She shook her head. "Of course not, I'm just scared that if you guys decide to split and Monica already shares this close bond with her, what will happen?" I looked at her. "I don't plan on making any mistakes to have Monica leave me. I plan on making her happy, I don't plan to disappoint her in any way."

Luna looked down at her hands. "I don't know why but I believe every word. I trust you to take good care of her, okay? Guys around here can't make her smile like you do." I thanked her. "Well, you wanna watch Paw Patrol until she comes?" Andrea's head snapped to Luna, a big smile on her face. "Paw Trol!!" She squeals as Luna puts the TV on.

Monica Rhodes

I sighed as I stood outside my apartment, thinking about my visit.

"Bye, dad, I'll miss you." I hugged and kissed his cheek. "I'll miss you too and please come back and visit soon and bring that boyfriend of yours, I would like to meet the man who makes my daughter so happy." My heart stopped for a minute. "Are you serious?" He nods, smiling. "I really want to meet him and his daughter, remember as long as he makes you happy, he's okay in my eyes."

"I love you." Once again I hugged him. "I love you too, I'll be waiting." I glanced in the corner and saw my mom looking at me. The barbecue went smoothly after my little moment wit Bethany. She tried playing it off by flirting with my brother who only made her feel worse. She just apologized for her behavior and everything went back to normal.

"Bye mom." I said cautiously. "Bye." Was all she said to me but I wasn't expecting much at least she told me something. "Come one, we have to go." I waved at dad before getting into the car and drove off.

I blinked as the door opened to reveal Luna holding a sleeping Andrea. Micheal was here. "She isn't so bad after all." I chuckled walking into the apartment. "I missed you." Was all he said, before hugging me close to him. "I missed you too." Micheal buried his nose in my neck. "Aw that's cute." Luna gushed. "I'll just give you guys some space." She took Andrea upstairs as Micheal sat me down.

"I have to tell you something." He looked at me with his serious face. "What happened?" He smiles right after. "Remember when I called you at the barbecue and I told you that I love you?" My heart rate picked up. "I do remember and I love you too." His eyes widened. "You're not pressured or-" I cut him off by kissing him on his lips and he instantly kissed back. "No, I love you very much, I really do."

Micheal's eyes brightened as he kissed me once more. "I love you Monica Rhodes." His smile widened, holding my hands. "I love you Micheal Banes." His cheeks turned pink. "Is someone blushing?" I teased. "I have no idea what you're talking about." He's so cute.

"Another thing I want to talk to you about." He cleared his throat. "You happened to butt call me after I told you that I loved you." I did? "I didn't want to listen but I couldn't help myself." I can't remember. "What did I say that you couldn't hang up?"

"Well.."

Flashback to that night....

I looked at my phone ringing and it was Monica. Was she calling back to say that she loves me too? Gulping down my nerves, I answered the phone. 

"Mo-"

"So, Monica, tell us about your rich, white boyfriend." I heard a woman's voice.What was going on? "What? You have a boyfriend?" A man asked like he was in shock. "What the hell, Bethany? How is that even your business?" That sounded like Anthony. It got quiet for a moment, I knew I should hang up but I couldn't. "Come on, Monica don't be shy, is he the one that cheated and had a kid? Micheal...Micheal Banes, right?" My heart pounded in my chest, is that how they see me where she's from?

"That's enough Bethany!!" Anthony shouted at the woman. "What? I was just asking! You didn't want us to find out? We may be a small town but we know about the internet. I even heard that you're the mother of the daughter and you came back to him because you ran out of money." How dare she speak about my daughter and girlfriend that way?

  "Well if you wanna know so badly, I am dating him and I love him for him, not for his money, I don't know what type of man your mother told you to love but mine will always be true. Him being rich has nothing to do with me loving him!! And when it comes to his daughter, she isn't mine biologically but she is in my heart." I bit my lip, listening to her talk about us. God I was blessed for having her in my life, I don't deserve her.

  "And I'll beat any dumb bitch who speaks about my kid." Silence is what came after. "Don't ever loose your place and put my daughter's name in your mouth. I won't be so merciful the next time I see your hoe ass." Her daughter, Monica just called Andrea her daughter. My heart was swollen with happiness. "I'll be in my room, call me when the food's done."  With that I hung up. I didn't know that I could have loves her more than I already do.

"So, yeah." She blinked at me for a couple minutes. "I meant every word, I said, Micheal, I love Andrea like she was my own." The best part about this was, I knew she wasn't lying. "I trust you Monica." She took my hands into hers. "Good and Luna you can come out now." I looked up, seeing Luna and Andrea who was wide awake. "We didn't want to spoil the moment, she woke up when she heard your voice and that was a cute moment by the way."
