Aaliyah Pov~ "What did you just say?" I questioned breathing hard.
"Um, what did you just say?" he questioned as well
"Did you just say, I love you" I said with tears forming
"Yea" He replied stepping closer.
"Hey y'all" my mom said walking in the house.
I tried to wipe away my tears, so my mom wouldn't notice I was crying.
"Aaliyah, have you been crying"
"No" I lied.
"Girl please, Merlin do you know what's wrong with her?"
"We just finished watching Set It Off, and when Cleo died, she started crying" he also lied.
"It's just a movie Aaliyah, and it's getting late you guys, she'll see you tomorrow honey" my mom said.
Merlin walk out and headed next door. I went upstairs and couldn't sleep at all. I couldn't get Merlin off my mind, what he said today really scared me, and I said it back.
7:20 am Wednesday
I walked in the cafeteria, Moesha, Hakeem, Larenz, Paul, Tyrin, and Merlin, were all sitting at a table together, I took the seat right next to Merlin and Paul. Merlin looked at me and smiled.
"You still thinking about that huh?" he whispered.
I nodded and looked at him.
"Aaliyah, I do love you" he whispered
"Come with me" I whispered.
"We'll be back y'all" Merlin said.
"You said you love me right?" I questioned
"Yea"
"What if I told you, I love you to, what will that make us?"
"In love"
"And what do people do, when there in love" I questioned
"They date" he answered
"Right"
"So Aaliyah, you wanna be my girlfriend"
"Thought you'll never ask" I said wrapping my arms around his neck.
We walked back in the cafeteria holding hands.
"It must be official?" Tyrin asked
"It's actually is" I answered.
WHAT!! Everybody said.
"Damn, I was just playing" Tyrin said
"I'm so happy for y'all" Moesha said.
We walked to class together and talked all day.
(3:15 after school)
"Mom and Dad, I got something to tell you" I said.
"You're dating Mr.Santana" my dad said.
"Huh, How you know?" I asked
"I'm your father, plus your mom told me both of you can't lie"
"Oh, y'all think he said he liked me that's why I was crying last night"
"Yea, isn't that's why?" my mom questioned
"Umm Yea, that's why"
I went upstairs, put on some different clothes and sat on the porch.

I can't believe, I'm actually dating the boy I dreamed about since I was 8 or 9 years old. Life is going so good for me right now: gotta boyfriend, got straight A's, got loyal friends, what can possibly go wrong.
