The mansion was richly decorated as Celeste walked in.

The white linoleum floor of the entrance glowed. The large windows had royal curtains hung over them. The walls were rich peach causing shimmering effect.The voluminous chandelier which was hung in glory in the luxurious mansion dripped with best cut diamonds and white gold. The large red carpeted stairs lay across climbing to the ceiling and the railings were shining with the polish.

The Lord had disappeared as soon as she stepped out of the carriage. She didn't bother searching him as it was none of her business.

As her eyes roamed she saw the guests chatting, dancing and drinking. As she was going to take a seat she saw her bestfriend rushing towards her.

"Celeste , you came! ." Astrid exclaimed as she saw her bestfriend.

" Of course I would come it's your engagement!" Celeste said while they sat at the nearby table.

" I heard that your carriage broke, what happend? " Astrid asked as she took a sip of wine supplied by the waiter.

" Oh about that ,one of the horse was wounded, atleast that 's what the coachmen told me. " Celeste said as Astrid nodded her head.

" Then how did you come here? " Her friend asked with a questioning look.

" I took a lift by Lord Calix. " She replied to which Astrid wiggled her eyebrows which caused Celeste to blush.

" It's nothing, quit giving me that look " She said taking a sip of water to calm her nerves.

It's was no surprise that Astrid knew about Celeste 's attraction towards the lord. Afterall it was in her mansion where Celeste met him.

After a while of talking Astrid excused herself as her mother called her. She was startled as someone tapped her shoulder. She turned back to see man in a black tuxedo standing with a smile on his face

" Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, by the way I am Caius Radcliff" He outstretched his hand as Celeste shaked it.

" Celeste Valencia " She replied with a smile.

" Such a beautiful name for a beautiful lady. " He said to which she blushed as she was not used to compliments.

" If you don't mind , may I sit here? " He asked as Celeste nodded her head as she didn't mind about company.

" So where do you live? " He asked waiting for her response.
She knew that she shouldn't talk with strangers but this man seemed harmless.

" I live in a small village in Vaclya. " She answered as she saw him nodding. They exchanged few words as the time passed and she came to know that he was the son of Duke Grayson Radcliff, the Duke of Iyesgarth. Soon the lights dimmed as the guests started dancing.

"May I have this dance with you?" Caius asked with his hand outstretched as she gladly took his hand. They both walked to the main hall and slowly started dancing to the sweet melody. It seemed like eternity when Caius spoke few words which made her shiver in fear.
