Chapter - 04
Drowning

" Celeste you are overwatering them! " Her mother Letitia yelled from the kitchen window making Celeste snap out of her daze.
She just sighed in dismay and kept the water can back in it's place and went inside the home.
" Celeste what happened? You have not been yourself for past few days. " Letitia asked with concern as she came out of the kitchen.
What her mother said was true. It had been many days since the function was over but she had been worried about what Caius had told her. Because of that she couldn't carry out any errands around the house.
" It's nothing Ma. " She said not wanting to worry her mother as she sat on the nearby wooden chair and leaned her head on the window as she stared outside.
Letitia stared at her for few seconds and sighed.

It was afternoon as Celeste decided to take a walk to clam her nerves. She needed a break from overthinking things.
She walked past the lush green trees and made her way towards one of her favourite place.
After few minutes of walking she finally heaved a sigh of contentment. Infront of her was the beautiful waterfall she had been visiting since she was a kid.
She had discovered it when she and mother went to the forest to collect some berries which were only grown here.
She slowly sat down and dipped her leg in the water as her wide black eyes stared at the beautiful waterfall.
The birds chipped in the distant which was a melody to her ears. Everything here calmed her, she was at peace here. Time flew away and before she knew the faint lilac sky started fading slowly.
She heaved a sigh and stood up as she dusted her flora dress. She glanced at the mesmerizing waterfall one last time as she was about to turn around but two unfamiliar hands pushed her into the water.
She tried to swim to the surface but something down there caught her ankle and pulled her down to the endless bottom as her body numbed. She let herself drown as she closed her eyes.
