Hey guys! It's Yin, hope y'all are having a wonderful day. That is all.

3rd Person POV

A couple hours later the sun had set across the horizon of the beach, casting its yellow and purple hue onto the water and sand. Nana and Zane were in the same position where they were a couple hours ago. Next to each-other, a book between them. But this time, the book was closed, and both readers were looking at each-other; talking. Laughing.

Zane's POV

I feel the light, breezy feeling that dances on my shoulders whenever I'm happy. Which, in all honesty, isn't very often.

"You did what?!" I shout in disbelief, smiling underneath my mask. Nana giggles a little bit.

"Yeah, I put toothpaste in Oreo's and gave them to my siblings!" her eyes become brighter, "they didn't take too kindly to that."

"I can imagine."

We laugh for a bit, the last sunbeam disappearing into the horizon, leaving Nana and I with nothing but the cold sand, quiet waves and night sky. Everyone else had gone back to the house, I could even hear the music and laughter from here.

"Hey, Zane?"

I quickly stop gazing at the house and avert my eyes to Nana, her eyes- surprisingly solemn. I nod, giving her the go to start talking.

"I'm... Well, I'm glad you wanted to try this with me. I really like you, you know. And- I'm not trying to be corny or anything but, you're a really great guy, Zane. A-and you have no idea happy I was that you wanted to try."

I feel my cheeks getting hot. Thank Irene I have this mask.

"I like you too, Nana. You're, actually, completely opposite to who I thought you previously were. I'm just glad I found out about you. The real you. The you I feel like I can truly love."

Nana looks away, swishing around some sand on the ground, hugging her knees.

"I'm not looking for a- kiss. Or anything, you know." she says, looking back at me. I smile slightly.

"I'm not either."

She stops hugging her knees, and slides her hand over to where I'm sitting. She nods at her hand. I finally understand what she's asking of me. Gingerly, I slide my hand over to Nana's, grasping it ever so slightly, before entwining my fingers with hers. Rubbing her thumb across my knuckles, she points to the night sky.

"You see the Big Dipper?" she asks, her voice becoming more animated, smiling brightly. I look up to the sky and spot the constellation. With my other hand, I point at it.

"Nice spot, Zane!" she giggles, leaning her head into my shoulder. I tense, not ready for the sudden contact. But as soon as she looks up to my face and smiles slightly, I relax. Inviting her head into my shoulder. "Now... let's see..." Nana says.

And that's what we did for the night.

Holding hands, head on shoulders. Looking up at the night sky, pointing out constellations and laughing while doing so. Listening quietly to the sound of each other's heartbeats and the swish of the waves kissing the sand.

It was a bitter goodbye. I checked my phone and saw it was 1am. Nana and I both agreed it was time to head back. Before we parted ways, I decided to give Nana a quick peck on the cheek, before saying goodnight.

I will never forget that night with Nana, under the stars.
