That night, the children went back inside by the time that dinner was usually prepared. James was the first to get back inside, Cole with him as he lived a good few streets away. They walked in, James letting Cole in first, and then following him. He saw his father hovering over the stove, Cole looked at him confused, and James returned the same face.

"Father, where is Mother?" James asked, Alexander looked over, smiling at the sight of Cole.

"She well... she's with Aunt Peggy." He said, James' eyes grew.

"But, she would never miss supper." He stated, Alexander sighed.

"Yes, she won't be home for few days." He stated, James sighed.

"Did she yell?" He asked, Alexander looked to Cole, who just stood there unfazed. The boy was rather attractive, and he knew from the day before when James and Alex talked about him while trying to let James go out that he was very respectful, and kind.

"Later, is this Cole?" He asked. Cole blushed a bit, smiling to James. James chuckled.

"Y-yeah, can he stay for dinner?" James asked anxiously.

"Of course, he can sit in Alex's seat, Alex is taking Angelica's n-new spot today, and Angelica will take your mother's." Alexander explained. James nodded.

"Do you need help Mr. Hamilton?" Cole asked politely, Alexander was taken aback by the question. He looked to the plates on the counter, there were two less than usual, but they'd only need one more now.

"Actually yes you two an help, James can you get another plate for Cole and set the table?" He asked, The two nodded and smiling, James handing the plates and napkins with utensils to Cole, who set them perfectly on the table. James got another setting, putting it beside his seat. Alexander poured the food he was making onto a plate, placing it in the middle of the table. Sighing.

"It's not going to be your mother's food, just a warning. Cole, the food here is usually much better then this." He stated, Cole chuckled.

"It's okay Mr. Hamilton, thank you for letting me stay." He stated, Alexander smiled.

"No problem, James go ring the bell won't you?" He asked, James nodded, going out to the porch and ringing the bell.

William started running with John following him tiredly. Angelica was holding Eliza behind them, and Alex was at her side, just as it always was. James was trying to find Philip, but then realized, he wouldn't be coming for dinner. He following his siblings inside, sitting in his brother's seat with Cole next to him, who noticed his discomfort but didn't say anything.

"Daddy, where is Momma?" William asked as Alexander sat down, he sighed, Angelica raised an eyebrow, to not only her father but Alex. "And whose that boy next to James , where's Philip?"

Alexander looked nervously, standing up and leaning on the table in front of him, looking to his children with agony and tiredness.

"Mommy is with Aunt Peggy, she won't be home for a few days. The boy next to James is his best friend Cole, and Philip... Philip won't be home either." Alexander explained, the youngest nodded, but looked confused to everyone at the table. Alex looked with wide eyes to Angelica, who looked to James with a gaze questioning what happened before they came back.

"When is Philip coming back?" John asked, so unaware of everything that James just glared at his brother. Alexander sighed.

"He won't be coming back, Philip is gone." He said, John gasped, he was old enough to know what that meant. William looked confused to his brother, then his mind clicking.
