A few days has passed and it's time for graduation. Senior year is done. Finished. Completed. It's been a wild and amazing year and I'm so grateful for this year. So much has happened in my life. With Michael and with Jason. Time really flew by this year because of Jason.
High school was a real journey to begin with. I ended the year as valedictorian of 12th grade. I ended the year by winning the championship for the volleyball team. Jason ended the year by winning 12-3 on the football team. We really did a lot this year. Now off to college we go.
We found this really nice apartment that we'll be moving in this summer. It's not far from FSU. It's about 10 minutes away and like 3 hours away from Mom and everyone. I'll for sure drive and visit once a week. The apartment is perfect for us.
Sophia is now going to be a Junior. Time really flies for her now because she now has to focus on going to college this year. Mom and Dad went to FSU, Stephanie is now a Junior at it and now it's my turn to start. Hopefully Sophia comes to FSU so we'll even go to college together.
Our graduation took place at University of West Florida. It's really close to us and I'm so nervous to tell my speech that I wrote. I've been practicing it every day and I'm just really nervous right now.
My hands are shaking so much right now.
8:07 a.m.
We got to school and there he was, Jason waiting on the stairs for me. I saw his mom and dad and they took pictures of us and we went inside and boy, was the college huge. Oh my gosh, the auditorium was even huge.
We sat down at our seats and it was time for it to start. I was so excited to get my diploma in my hands. Finally.
11:37 p.m.
After all the awards were passed out, we finally got our diplomas. Yayy! But it was my turn to speak now.
"Go ahead," Jason said.
I walked up in front of everyone and everyone was staring at me. My speech was funny so hopefully I make some people laugh.
"Can you believe it? Look at you! You look like a bunch of nuns in those robes. I know some of you are too busy posting silly cap and gown photos on Instagram to pay attention to this speech, but I suggest you do because I have some wise words for you. Now. Before I get started, I want to take a moment to thank those of you who have helped me get to this podium today, namely the teachers at this wonderful school, who have no qualms about taking bribes. But seriously, aren't these teachers the best? Give them a round of applause. It's what they live for (because we know they aren't in it for the money). Today is our last day as high school students. This is a good and bad thing. Surprised? Listen, it's a good thing because if we want to, we could avoid homework for the rest of our lives. It's also a bad thing, because we don't get student discounts on movie tickets anymore. I know, it's awful. It is time to set goals for your future. Before you can do that, however, you need a vision. A dream. Over the next few years you may end up at a college or trade school. You may begin working full-time or even start a family. No matter what your dream is for the future, you can get there with the dedication, determination, and focus that you have learned while here at this very high school. We, the class of 2018, are a powerhouse of innovation and creativity. We will push boundaries to make this world a better place even in small ways. Always remember where you came from. And always remember where you are going. Congratulations, graduates," I told.
It felt good to say that speech. I made everyone laugh and I felt even more better. I smiled so hard as I walked back to my seat as everyone cheered for me. My anxiety level went down and I felt happy.
"Aww, good job, baby girl," Jason said.
"Thank you."Our principal came back on the stage. "What an amazing speech that was. Now I need everyone to stand up, please."
