Keira's POV

My first date with Jason was completely different from my first date with Ethan. Ethan took me out to dinner at a nice restaurant in New York City. I had to wear high heels, a nice dress, and bring my purse. I'm not going to complain. It was a wonderful date, but I'd rather ditch the heels and put on some Converse or something. For my date with Jason, I wore jeans and a sweatshirt, just as he told me to wear. I was grateful that I didn't have to look nice in order to impression. Upon the arrival at our date location, I realized that Jason took me where I would be most comfortable with: the movies.

"Gee, Ethan didn't take me to the movies until we dated for two months," I commented, peering out the window of the taxi Jason hired. "This is like a luxury to me."

Jason chuckled as he paid the driver, unbuckling his seatbelt. "I'm surprised you didn't say anything about it," he said.

"Oh, I did." I opened the cab door and scooted out, glad that it wasn't pouring down rain as it had earlier. "I told him he really didn't have to take me out to nice restaurants."

"And what did he do in response?"

"He insisted he didn't mind paying for it all and kept taking me to them anyway." I shrugged. "I had to mention about a movie I wanted to see in order for him to realize I didn't care much for nice dinners."

Jason gave me a crooked smile. "What if I want to take you out on a nice dinner?"

"I guess I wouldn't mind."

Jason shook his head in amusement and paid for our movie tickets. "You're an interesting woman, Keira Lancaster."

I grinned. "You know you love me," I sang, skipping into the building.

"Oh, believe me, I do."

"So how long are you staying in London?"

Jason shifted his weight as he wiped his hands on a paper napkin, chewing on his bite of pizza. "A couple of more weeks," he confessed. "There's a show next week I need to see and submit an article for before I pack up and head back to Connecticut."

I tried to hide my disappointment. "Oh."

Jason reached across the table and took my hand. "I'm sorry, Keira," he said softly. "But we can work it out. Maybe I can get a job out here in London."

"No." I shook my head. "No, I know you love your current job. I can't make you quit it."

"Well, how about the Hollands? How much longer were you planning on working for them?"

I took a bite out my pizza and chewing, thinking. Swallowing, I shrugged. "I don't know," I admitted. "I never really thought about it. I guess I'll have to talk to them about it."

"I would hate to rip you from your job if you like it."

"And I do like it. I'll admit that."

Jason sighed. "So are we back to square one?" he asked. "We can't date because you live across the pond?"

I groaned and buried my face in my hands. "Why is it that when we have a perfect opportunity to be together we can't because we don't want to ruin each other's jobs?"

Jason had to laugh. "I guess fate hates us."

I smiled weakly and leaned forward on the table. "So what are we going to do? I don't want to part from you, but I just can't suddenly pack up and fly back to the States with you."

"I know, love. I don't want you to do that either." Jason played with my fingers, lacing them through his. "Why don't we talk about this later?" he suggested softly, stroking my palm with his thumb. "I really don't want to think about it, and I'm sure we could use a couple of days to think over what we want to do before we make a decision. Right now I only want to think about our date and spend time with the woman I spent years waiting for."
