Wars and Spells

Everyone sat down on the grass as we waited for the pair to come out.

Edmund was pulling on the grass nervously. I put my hand on his shoulder for a bit of comfort. He glanced at me and gave a grateful smile.

I returned it and just then the two walked out. We all stood in anxiousness.

"She has renounced her claim on the Son of Adams blood." Aslan announced.

We cheered as the Witch walked back to her chair.

"How do I know you'll keep your promise?" she asked.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

Aslan roared in return and she stumbled back in her seat. That set off another round of cheers as she departed from our camp.

I looked to Aslan and he gave me a sad nod. Confusion was written on my face but he walked away before I could approach him.

Night fell and I was restless in my hammock. My head was pounding and there was sweat all over me.

Flashes of images ran through my mind. Images of the Witch. She was taunting me. I twisted and turned but finally rose to my feet and walked out of my tent.

She was laughing now. I pressed my hands to my head and groaned.

Her laughter grew louder and I collapsed to the ground on the grass. A loud roar stopped everything in my head.

Everything was silent again. No more laughter. No more taunting. Just me and the wind.

The wind.

It blew right past me but I could feel its presence as a wave of flowers passed by.

I followed it to Peter and Edmund's tent. Peter was holding a sword to the flowers body. They looked at me.

"I can feel it. Somethings wrong." I say.

"I come in peace your Majesty. I bring grave news from your sisters."

••••••••••••

"It's true. He's gone."

I put my head up.

"I guess that means you're going to lead us. Aslan's gone and you've got a whole army at your command." Edmund says.

"What are your orders sire?" Orieus asks.

"We'll be with you every step of the way." I put in.

Peter told us his plan and we set the troops up.

Awhile later, we stood on an open valley waiting for the Witch's army. Standing next to Edmund on the cliff, I fastened my sword in my newly made armor.

It had metal shoulder pads like the men's did. Except I had no chain mail anywhere on me. Only my long sleeve blouse underneath and pants. Of course I had a small skirt of leather connected to my chest plate and arm guards. Also accompanied with very suitable and useful boots that were slightly wrapped in metal but not too much.
