Author's Note: Before I start the final chapter, I want to thank everyone for follwoing along this adventure and allowing me to take Loki out of character. This was my first attempt of sharing here at Wattpad. I plan to share again. Now let's wrap this up shall we...
Freya blinked and squinted at the light that was pouring in all around her. She was in her bed. She tried to sit up, but her body protest against her. She quickly laid back down as small groan escaped her. It was then she noticed the massive heap occupying the chair by her bedside. It was Thor splayed into a most uncomfortable sleeping position; both legs stretched out and his body slumped down in the chair as far as he could manage. He had his head resting on his hand which was propped up by his elbow.
"Thor?"Freya's voice cracked. Thor startled awake like a guard who fell asleep on his watch.
"Freya, I'm sorry..."Thor fumbled around trying to decide if he should sit or stand. He finally decided sitting was best.
"What are you doing here? Wht happened? Loki!" Freya began firing questions one after the other at Thor.
"Slow down, Freya."Thor said. "I'm here to make sure you heal and rest."Thor said the last part with extra emphasis. Freya opened her mouth to speak again, but Thor cut off and continued to speak.
"It was mother's insistance that we--"
"We?" Freya insisted.
"Freya please,"Thor quited her before she could ask anymore questions. Thor went on to explain everything that happened. Just as the mirrors were about to go silent, Loki and Freya came tumbling into the room. Loki had shielded Freya with his own body as they flew and slid into the room. Loki had to be swift in getting Freya out of the room. He carried her out and Thor was in right after to smash the mirrors as planned.
"Then it worked." Freya scooted up slowly.
"Yes."Thor nodded.
"And you brought me here?"Freya asked trying to make sense of everything.
"Yes. Mother escorted Loki home and we told your mother that you and Loki both had fallen ill."
Freya nodded as she took Thor's explanation in. It made sense, and it put her mind at ease that her mother wouldn't be asking too many questions. Thor stood and stretched bringing Freya back to the present. "I will be leaving you. Loki will be here-- "
"No!"Freya cut him off.
"I beg your pardon?" Thor was baffled.
"I don't require a nurse and I most certainly don't require Loki."Freya spat. Now Thor was truly taken aback. Freya could feel hot tears stinging her eyes. She turned away and laid back down.
"I don't understand."Thor said quietly.
"Loki was reckless, careless, and he could have perished in that awful place. You weren't there!"Freya squeezed her eyes shut hoping to edge out the cold that still coursed through her body.
"Let Loki share his remorse."Thor pleaded his brother's case.
"No."Freya refused. She pulled the covered tighter around her. Thor moved to her door.
"Loki was not alone that night."Thor grunted. "Perhaps you should have fought harder to stop him!"
"You know very well Loki does whatever he wants!"Freya hissed as she bolted upright. She almost immediately regretted it. "He never gave me or you a second thought." As soon as she said it, Freya hated herself. It was wrong and she knew it, but the damage was done. "I don't want him here." She finished with a catch in her voice.
