Ydris's voice rang out over the crowd and seemed to come from all directions at once. I jerked my head around, trying to find his hiding place but to no avail. He was nowhere to be seen, vanished without a trace. I yelped in surprise when I was suddenly envelopped in purple smoke and appeared high off the ground in a golden bird cage. The crowd let out gasps and shouts of astonishment at my sudden vanishing act. "(Y/n)!!" Maya yelled, a look of shock covering her face as she gaped at me high up in my gleaming prison. I could see Ydris on the ground far below me and I began to panic slightly. Heights were not my strongpoint and neither were small enclosures. I looked around frantically for a way down but there was none. The cage was tightly locked. In fact, there wasn't even a door on the damn thing.

I made a mental note to smack Ydris later after this was all over. He had caught me off guard and I was pretty pissed that he had included me as part of his act without even asking me first. Clearly this had all been well planned out on his part and I couldn't help but feel a surge of frustration towards that man. When I saw him rise up gracefully on the ropes I almost forgot all my anger. My eyes were glued to his lithe form as he performed his glorious aerial dance again. Except this one was much more exquisite than the one I had seen him perform when we were alone.

Ethereal, dreamlike melodies floated through the air as Ydris wove himself through the silken ropes as easily as if he were walking, steadily climbing higher and higher until I found myself staring into his eyes, which were filled with pure exhilaration. "Are you ready to fly, my beautiful dove?" He whispered in my ear. I only glared angrily at him. If looks could kill he would have dropped dead on the spot. "Come now, ma chérie, don't be angry with me. A frown doesn't suit such a pretty girl like yourself. I thought you enjoyed the silk ropes?" He pleaded. "Not when you don't ask me first! And don't try to charm your way out of this because it won't work." I hissed. "Ah, but my dove, I only wanted you to experience the thrill of the circus. That is what you came here for, no?" He crooned. I merely crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes. Truth be told, it was getting hard to stay mad at him.. "Say you're sorry." I said, sounding softer than I meant to. "For you I would do anything. Forgive me, I shall never do it again if you wish." He said softly, appearing genuinely apologetic. "That's better. I forgive you." I said softly. Ydris smiled and extended his hand to me. "Are you ready?" He asked. I nodded, ready as I'd ever be. He touched the bars of the cage and they slowly melted away into a shimmery golden dust. I began to fall and panic rose up in my chest but Ydris caught my hand and we spun in a wide circle together as the crowd below us went wild with applause.

I looked on in awe at the beautiful glitter that was falling gently around us like snow and realised that wherever they touched me, my clothes instantly transformed into the beautiful, white, downy feathers of a dove. Soon my whole outfit was transformed and the crowd only cheered harder than ever. Suddenly, I understood Ydris's exhilaration and I smiled widely, feeling more happy than I had in a long, long time. "You look absolutely radiant, ma belle." Ydris said as we gently landed on the ground. I felt myself blush at his compliment. "Thank you." I answered shyly, tucking a stray hair behind my ear.

Ydris smiled and picked me up, twirling me in the air as he did so and planted a quick kiss on my cheek. "Ladies and Gentlemen, may a present to you, (y/n) (l/n)!" Ydris announced proudly as he set me back down. I beamed at the crowd as they chanted my name and applauded enthusiastically. My smile faded, however, when I noticed the venomous scowl Loretta wore. I'm in some deep shit now.. I thought to myself. Ydris gently led me back to my seat and I sat down, trying to keep Loretta and her gang out of my mind for the time being, which was surprisingly easy to do, considering the rest of the circus act that Ydris performed. Every detail was flawless but I only focused on him, occasionally catching his eye with a blush and smile.
