I slowly opened my eyes and whimpered at the sunlight streaming through the window of Ydris's wagon. He was still asleep and his arms were wrapped around me tightly. I took this time to study his peaceful face, which was somehow even more beautiful in sleep than in waking. His dark hair was tousled and fell over his eyes slightly. His breathing was slow and steady and his lips were curled upwards in a small smile. He must be having a good dream. I thought to myself with a little smile of my own. I debated whether or not to get out of bed but the sight of Ydris's sleeping form convinced me to stay.

I snuggled my head down on his chest and took in his scent, listening to the peaceful rhythm of his heart beating. I didn't know why, but laying here with him just felt so right. I knew that I should leave soon or else I would be late for my morning classes but I didn't want this moment to end. I softly ran a hand through his hair, brushing the stray strands away from his face. He let out a soft sigh as his eyes slowly fluttered open. He smiled when he saw me and gave me a small kiss on the tip of my nose. "Good morning, my sweet. Did you sleep well?" He said, propping himself up on one arm. His voice was husky from the early morning and his hair was messy. He looked absolutely adorable and it made my heart flutter. "Yeah, I slept better than I have in a long time." I said, smiling at him, trying in vain to keep the blush off of my face. "Good, I'm glad." He said, mirroring my smile.

"Thank you for letting me stay." I said shyly, suddenly aware of the way he was looking at my lips, as if he was thinking of kissing me again. Before he could lean in I put up a hand to stop him. It wasn't that I didn't want it, I was just confused. "Hey, um.. About that kiss back in the circus.. What was that all about?" I asked, trying to avoid his gaze. Ydris seemed taken aback for a moment before answering, "Is it so wrong to kiss an attractive woman? Life is short and I've found it's best to enjoy what you can when you have the chance. Did you not like it?" I blushed and fixated my gaze on my hands, which were twisting the bedsheets into nervous little knots. "Well, yes but we hardly know each other.. Don't you think it's a little, I don't know, weird?" I asked, hoping I didn't sound rude or hypocritical. Besides, I was the one who asked him to sleep with me last night. It wasn't like I was any better at avoiding intimacy until the 'right time.' Ydris merely shrugged as if my question didn't even phase him. "My darling, I am a little weird. It's who I am. Does it bother you?" He said, lowering his voice and leaning in close until our faces were inches apart. I slowly shook my head, unable to take my eyes off his lips. My body felt like it was being engulfed in flames.

I bit my lip, stalling for a second before driving myself forward, crashing my lips onto his. I didn't really know why I did it, all I knew was that I didn't want to resist him anymore. I couldn't. He let out a low moan, kissing back passionately, reaching up to cup my flaming face in his hand. My entire body felt like it was tingling and my stomach was definitely doing somersaults. His lips were so incredibly soft and tasted so sweet.. I whimpered when his tongue roved over my lips, opening my mouth just enough to allow his tongue to meet mine. His hands were grasping at my hips, desperately pulling me closer until I was almost on top of him. My body felt like it was coming alive under his touch and I tangled my hands in his hair, enjoying it's softness between my fingers.

All too soon he pulled away, panting. "If we keep going like this I won't be able to resist you, dove." He said, and I noticed his face was almost as red as mine. I swallowed hard, my fogged mind slowly becoming aware of what he was saying. Oh.. OH! Was I really making him feel that way? Damn! I shifted my weight in the bed awkwardly, unsure what to do or say. I'd never been in a situation like this before and Ydris's remark had caught me off guard. "Well, um.. I should probably get going." I said, clearing my throat and running my fingers over my lips, where mere seconds before he had been kissing me. Ydris nodded silently and I was a little surprised that he agreed with me. To be honest it kind of put me off. I was half expecting him to beg me to stay.
