Enjoy! ;)Within the span of a few days, most of the Pandorian cracks had been taken care of, which allowed me to shift my focus back on my riding classes and Ydris' mysterious, magical studies in potion brewing. Unfortunately, due to my extracurricular pursuits I was way behind on my homework and my grades were paying the price. Loretta threatened me more than once with releasing the video if I didn't shape up, which only added to my stress. I felt uncomfortably like a rubber band being stretched to its limit. Actually, I was surprised I hadn't snapped yet. I eventually confessed these feelings to Ydris one sunny Friday afternoon up at Nilmer's Highland. I lay on my back, running my hands through the thick grass and plucking at the wildflowers that scattered the open field behind the circus tent. We had already wasted an hour leafing through the Baroness' old books to no avail. "I need a good, long break from it all." I said. "Well, love, you've come to the right place. Do I not live to bring you joy?" Ydris replied with a smirk that made my stomach flip.
I suddenly became painfully aware of the fact that Xin the jester was nowhere to be seen, nor was anyone else. Even (h/n) and Zee were grazing on the other side of the field. We were entirely alone. He leaned over me, hovering above my trembling form to place feather-light kisses over my jaw and neck. His mouth roamed over my collarbone and lingered there, gently nipping at the sensitive skin. A small moan escaped my lips, despite my best efforts to hold it back. Ydris chuckled softly against my skin, his warm breath sending shivers down my spine. "Do you enjoy this, dove?" He asked. There was a suggestive tone in his voice that made my body feel like fire and ice all at once. I merely bit my lip and nodded, swallowing nervously. Ydris smiled and pulled away, leaving my head spinning as I sat back up.
He seemed to always have that effect on me and I was beginning to suspect he enjoyed teasing me like that. I ran a hand through my hair to distract myself from my own thoughts. "Well.." I started, my mind suddenly pulling a blank. I paused, unsure what to say or do.
Should I kiss him? Should I not do anything? What was I going to say, anyways?
"What was that about?" I finally asked. "Kisses relieve stress. I merely want you to be happy and healthy, my sweet. Is that so wrong?" He replied innocently as if he was completely unaware of the amorous desires he evoked in me. "No, it's not wrong. It's just.. different.." I said, unsure how to phrase my answer. Ydris only smiled and motioned for me to come closer. I raised a questioning eyebrow. "Come here, I want to do something for you." He said gently.
I scooted closer, trying to catch a glimpse of him as he moved behind me. Before I could question his intentions, his hands were running through my hair. My breathing deepened at the contact and I closed my eyes, enjoying the sensation of his fingers against my scalp. "Back home the women used to wear their hair like this.." Ydris hummed as he skilfully braided my hair into ornate pleats. "Where is your home?" I asked, absentmidedly twisting the flowers I had plucked into a wreath. Although I couldn't see his face I sensed a sadness in him that I had never felt before. "My home is here now, dearest (y/n)." He said with a melancholy sigh. I didn't want to press the subject so I said nothing more. "Where is your home? Tell me about yourself." He said, seeming to forget whatever sadness had overtaken him. I proceeded to tell him all about my childhood and family and I could practically see his smile as I described everything to him.
Occasionally Ydris would comment on an experience that was similar to one of his own. "Tell me about your dreams." I said playfully. Ydris chuckled. "My only dream is to spread joy to others. That's what my family of misfits does best." He said happily. I could tell he really did love making others happy and it melted my heart. Not only was he sexy and mysterious, he was also kind, gentle and genuinely caring. "Now you too are part of our little family, (y/n)." He added, making my face flush pink.
