"I'm sorry, my dad did what?" I asked completely shocked. I was ready for everything but this.

"Your dad studied angels, H. I know that it's hard to believe, but I have his notebook as a proof, when he got sick he gave it to me and told me to save it for you, it's supposed to be here somewhere" Richard said while going through his drawers.

"Ah, there it is." He handed me a red velvet covered book with a weird sign on it that I did not recognize.

"It was given to him by the archangel Michael himself." Richard said grinning at me. I couldn't believe my eyes. I opened the notebook and the first page was a blank page that had something written on it in a different language which I recognized as Hebrew.

"This is from the bible. It says 'See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way.'"

On the other side of the page it read "Robert, congratulations on the birth of your first born.

With appreciation, Michael."

Warm tears were now making their way down my cheeks, but I was still skeptical.

"Richard, you know I respect you and my dad more than anything.

But angels? Michael? This can't be real, angels are not real." I said wiping the tears away.

"Little H, your dad was a very brave man, believe it or not- some angels were led by him because was a son of a prophet-which is a story for a different time. He helped them a lot, when other angels found out they didn't like that and war started between angels and other angels, some angels fell to earth and are walking amongst us. Your dad couldn't handle it as a human and he wanted you to be safe, so when he was told he couldn't be healed he said that his sickness was caused for a reason, and he took his diease as a chance to give you a better life, a safe life."

I still couldn't believe it, how could this all be true? But on the other hand, why would Richard lie to me?

And why my dad? It could've been anyone! He always told me that angels are around us but I thought it was because he was religious.

And my grandpa, he was a prophet? What does it even mean? Did he know god? Is there a god? Everything was just too much for me.

After forcing myself to take a mental chill pill and not let it out at the moment, I asked confidently: "How do I see these angels?"

"Each angel has a human form, and a celestial form. When you'll see one they will look just like us humans, you won't be able to tell they're angels unless they will want you to- but they are harmless, for they cannot remember what they are".

There was silence for a few seconds before he spoke again.

"Halo, now that I have told you- you have to be careful, the ones left in heaven know that your dad has a legacy- we cannot hide you anymore like we tried to in New York. Your father's house is warded, so angels cannot come in unless you let them in." he said seriously.

After doing a little more catching up and starting to accept and believe the information I just received I hugged Richard goodbye and left his house.
