"Who is Samael?" I asked, trying to come off clueless.
"Do not play games with me, human. Where is he?!" he screamed like a beast and my ears seemed to ring for a couple of seconds.
"I don't know who you're talking about, please, I just moved here a few weeks ago!" I yelled back as I started to cry.
"I know you have seen him and let him into your house, I felt the ward being broken." He said and twisted the blade between his fingers, matching every curve of it to his fingertips.
That was my sign to move along to a different lie.
"Okay yeah, I let him in but I never saw him since that night, please let me go" I said quickly with tears streaming down my cheeks.
There was a pause.
He stopped pacing and came right in front of my face.
That's when he punched me straight in the eye, making me squeal with pain.
"I will go now, I expect you to give me the truth when I come back." He said wiping his hands with the cloth that was placed in my mouth and pushed it back into my mouth making my head hit the pole that was behind me and left.
I scanned the room frantically, tried looking for an escape, but failed.
My sight was vague with tears and my head was dizzy with frustration.
My arms started to hurt from being tied up and cut and I was in so much pain that I just gave up on my body and let myself hang from the top.
What did I ever do to deserve this?
I send a silent prayer to god who I know now exists, and I ask him to save me from this chaos.
Then my head go back to Sam, and I wonder if I'll pray to him he'd hear me and come after me.
I close my eyes, trying to clear my head as much as I can and then I whisper to myself.
"Sam..Samael, if you can hear me, I need your help. I've been taken hostage by what I think is an angel and I'm hurt and tired. I don't know how long I've been here but I need a saving, I don't know if I can make it any longer." I open my eyes again, and when nothing happens I fall unconscious again.
When I wake up again the room is lit up a little more, was I out all night or did I simply lose track of time?
Now I can see that the walls are made of concrete and there are multiple windows- all covered with newspaper.
From that moment on, I just find myself at this random room being held hostage by a freaking angel for what seems like forever.
By the time the angel comes back it's already night time again.
He releases me from the pipe and my hands are finally free.
I think about kneeing him and make a run for it, but I am way too tired and hungry and he is way too powerful for me to deal with at the moment.
So when he takes the cloth out of my mouth after moving me to a chair and tying me there I talk.
"Give me food and water and I'll talk." I say in the most confident way possible.
"I really don't think you are in a position to be making conditions." He said lifting one of his eyebrows.
Man, you'd really expect your kidnapper to be old and ugly and smell like onions but this dude looked so good I almost wished he wasn't the man who killed me.
"Yet I am your only way to find Sam" I said as he sighed with realization.
"Fine, I will get you a sandwich and water but you will answer my questions after that, or you'll be eating your own meat." He replied, once again poking his finger in my wound.
I both dreaded his return and couldn't wait for it because I felt like I am losing my mind obsessing over food at that moment.
When he finally got back he threw a rusty tray at me with a jelly sandwich and a bottle of warm water. He released one of my hands and I devoured everything like a beast, so much so that I almost ate the paper my sandwich was wrapped in.
Once I was finished and he was about to tie me again, my phone rang on the table.
He smiled and let it go to voicemail.
He took my finger and opened my phone with it.
"Halo, it's me, listen I don't know where you are or why you haven't been answering your phone for the last three days but I'm worried. Our boy is getting worse, his grace is now dripping from his head and his shoulder, and I don't think he can make it much further.
You have to make a decision,
Your guardian, he's gonna bleed life out of himself if we don't find a way to help him through humanizing."
I didn't listen to the rest of that voice mail.
Everything just went silent beside one long squeal I could hear from what seemed so close to me.
My guardian?
What does it even mean?
Could Sam possibly be my guardian angel?
My train of thoughts was cut off by the sound of the angel laughing and squishing my phone between his hands.
"Who would have thought? Esau's own offspring..." he said as he got closer to me.
"Wha-what does it mean?" I said confused.
"Deary Samael was great Esau's guardian angel, who eventually drove him to the edge.
Esau's was the very first human he guarded, which means he will guard only his descendants for the rest of his being. I should've guessed with that bright, curly head of yours." He said as he crouched in front of me since I didn't want to look at him.
That's why Richard told me that story about Esau?
"You know, I have been waiting for this moment forever." He said and took his blade once again.
It was different this time- sharper, thinner, and shaped like a cone.
I start to breathe heavily, because I know what's coming next.
He takes the blade and kisses the edge of it, and then he pushes it right through my stomach.
So, I guess these are my last words?
