This one actually made me really sad not even gonna lie.

He never told anyone about it, but Sam wasn't the only one to have an imaginary friend. Dean had one too. He started to see you after the fire in his house and the death of his mother. He was staying quiet about what he was feeling and he couldn't confide in his father. So when you appeared to help him, he confided in you. He cried so much, telling you how he missed his mom. You listened to him each time and comforted him when he needed someone. He would always love to play cars with you and always talked about them all the time, the topic would always give the small boy something to smile about.

Everything was fine, you were helping Dean grieving just fine, you wouldn't be able to erase the scar of his Mom's death of course, but you could help ease the pain. But then, John began hunting, bringing his sons with him, forcing them to live in motel rooms or in the impala. You tried to stay with Dean, but he didn't want to play pretend anymore, he wanted to keep an eye on his little brother, Sam. So you reluctantly agreed and help him keep an eye over his brother.

But then, Dean had to hunt by himself. Leaving for days, weeks, to hunt vampire, ghosts, werewolves...  whatever went bump in the night. You tried to join him several times, but he asked you to wait for him in the motel room, as you were distracting or disturbing him. Once again, you reluctantly agreed, but felt transparent. You waited for him to come back, and when he did, you tried to play with him. Only for him to tell you he was tired or busy.

One night, as he came back from a hunt, you told him goodnight, and watched him fall asleep. You sat next to him on the bed and looked at him. He didn't want you anymore, it was clear. Did he still need you? Maybe. He was still just a kid, a kid turned into a soldier. And soldiers didn't have imaginary friends.

You looked down at your hands to see them fading away. It was time. Time for you to leave and never come back.

"Goodbye, Dean Winchester." You murmured in the dark, before disappearing.
