"We're leaving," Sam called to Jack in the room in which he was watching DVDs. Sam and Dean were right at the door when there came a strange knock.

"I didn't invite anyone," said Dean. The both of them opened the door to reveal a very old friend y/n.

"What are you doing here?" Sam asked.

"And how did you find this place?" Dean added.

"Yeah, someone spilled the beans, and someone I mean Jodie." Y/n snitched while giving an evil smirk.

"Well we're about to leave," Dean began pushing past.

"That's fine, if it's OK can I wait here until you guys come back?" she asked.

"That might not be..." Dean started.

"Sure," Sam replied. "There's someone here you could help keep company."

"Who?" Y/n was all excited now.

"We'll explain later just make yourself at home," Sam said following behind Dean who sighed. This was not a good idea to him, not at all, but it was a little too late and they weren't going to cast an old friend out when the nearest motel was miles away and she came all the way out here to see them. Y/n grinned and walked inside with her bags in tow. It looks like she was going to have to find an empty room and meet this new guy!

---

It didn't take long to find an empty room. Dean's room was obvious and Sam's had some of his shirts still out on the bed from packing. Next step was to find this mysterious person Sam said to keep company. There was the sound of a TV in another room down the hall so it seemed like the best place to start. Carefully peaking in, she hit jackpot. There was a man sitting on a bed eyes glued to the television screen. As not to be rude y/n tapped on the door. The man looked over and seemed surprised to see her.

"Hello, I'm y/n. Sam said I could keep you company while they're gone. I kind of just stopped by at a bad time," she laughed nervously. Usually she had no problem meeting new people but the curiosity in his eyes and slight confusion made her a bit weary. He just stared at her and remained silent. "What's your name?" she finally asked trying to cut through the awkwardness.

"Jack," he finally speaks! The confusion still didn't leave his eyes. "I was told I was staying alone."

"That's why I said I stopped by at a bad time. I didn't know they were leaving on a hunt and I had no idea they had anyone else here," she explained. His eyes finally lit up telling her that he understood. He paused the TV and stood up. Walking past y/n he headed down the hall. Y/n was shocked, all this without a word. What was he doing? "Where are you going?" she began to follow.

"I'm hungry," he commented.

"I can make you something," Y/n offered. Jack stopped walking and turned to look at her.

"Like what?" a confused look again.

"It'll be a surprise, now show me to the kitchen," she winked and then he smiled and nodded.

"OK, it's this way!" he pointed a finger out and then they were on their way!

---

Jack and y/n sat at the counter eating grilled cheese sandwiches. It was all she could really put together with the limited items in the kitchen. She'd have to do some grocery shopping; it seems the boys do not eat like they should. It was mainly beer in the fridge and some leftover fast food bags that had been in there how long?

"It's really good, I like it," Jack complimented.

"Thanks," Y/n smiled taking another bite. Jack turned out to be a sweetheart and seemed very naive about some things, just like Castiel used to be.

Y/n had met the Winchester brother's during a case in her home town. Castiel had randomly shown up telling them that a seal was about to be broken by a demon Lilith and that the case was because of this. They stopped this one but apparently they hadn't stopped enough because the apocalypse almost happened. Now it would seem that after this case was over Y/n would never see them again but she did in another town she was in for her own reasons. There she helped them and they finally gave in and exchanged numbers having found her skills useful. She hadn't seen them since then and it literally had been a couple years. Running into Jodie was just a random thing that seemed to have been fate because now she got to see the boys again and meet someone new, someone who was adorable, and seemed like he had a lot to learn. In all honestly she wanted to know if he was human, but she felt it wasn't her place to ask. Considering the Winchesters had worked with angels and demons alike.

"Can you make me more food while Sam and Dean are gone," Jack said after finishing his sandwich making Y/n come out of her thoughts. Remembering always seemed to make her space out. It sometimes actually helped her sleep instead of keeping her up. Depends on the memory.

"If you want, I can even show you some cool things. Also want me to draw you? I can't do realistic art but I can make you look cuter than you are in real life," she blushed saying this.

"You can draw?" he asked. Y/n nodded and stood up taking both of their now empty plates. "Can you do it right now?"

"If you want, I can also show you some of my other drawings," Y/n beamed. "I drew Castiel once." She tossed the plates into the sink to be washed later and turned back to face Jack.

"You knew Castiel?" Jack started to look sad.

"Knew? Did he die again?" Y/n sighed knowing about the Leviathan incident and the time he was blown atom by atom by Lucifer.

"He has died before?" guess Jack didn't know.

"We'll talk about it later and you'll have to let me know what you know. Even Steven," she smiled trying to brighten the mood. "Now let's go draw you that picture, I'm sure it'll cheer you up!"

Y/n grabbed his hands and began leading him to the room she chose. Once inside she went for the black sports backpack and unzipped the farthest back zipper pulling out a sketchbook. Flipping it open it revealed all sorts of drawings of characters in a cartoon style, most what anime artist's call chibi. Jack awed at the pictures.

"I don't have Castiel in the book. I drew that on regular paper and gave it to him. I'll do the same for you so you can keep it!" she pulled out a clipboard with computer paper on it. Computer paper was pure white unlike drawing paper and made any colours look more vibrant once the picture was done. "You don't mind if I take a picture of you? That way you can go back and watch TV until it's done."

"I don't mind," Jack said.

"Good," Y/n pulled out her phone. "Now smile." He did and she took the picture. "One more without a smile just so I can get your facial features right." He stopped smiling. Click, it was done. "Thanks, I'll come give it to you when it's done!"

"Bye then," Jack smiled waving before leaving the room. Y/n sighed and decided to get to work. She opened the gallery on her phone and sat her tools on the desk in the room. Her other bag had her favourite colour mechanical pencil which she grabbed before sitting down and getting to work!

---

"Jack!" she called stretching out the 'A' in his name. The sound of the television stopped and Jack turned to see y/n coming into the room with her hands behind her back. She had been busy for what must have been three hours but Jack was so invested in Sam's DVDs he hadn't noticed until just then. "Here!" Y/n held out a piece of paper with none other than a chibi Jack with an adorable grin. It was coloured with sharpie markers and shaded over with darker alcohol markers. Jack's eyes went wide then it looked like he was going to cry. Quickly, Y/n sat next to him. "Don't you like it?" she asked. He nodded and just stared at his lap. Rubbing his back she tried handing him the picture. He gingerly took it and gave a small smile.

"No one's made anything like this for me before," he told her.

"Is that so?" she smiled back. "No wonder you got emotional. It's alright. Everyone can be emotional sometimes. Just promise me you'll take care of it."

"I will, I'll make sure nothing bad happens to your drawing," he even held it so delicately in his hands as if one wrong touch and the paper would burn.

"Good, now if you haven't noticed the time I think we should both get ready for bed," y/n suggested. The clock on the stand nearby read eleven pm. "Good night," y/n said and without realizing it gave Jack a kiss on the cheek. She blushed and stood up to leave.

"Good night," Jack said not seeming phased by the act. Y/n quickly left the room feeling hot in the face and decided she would just take what she got. He was a cute, precious boy after all. Her caring instincts had just come out.

Well, tomorrow was another day and she'd have to go out to get supplies for a good breakfast. She was actually excited about what could come and how much better she could get to know the new kid she knew nothing about!
