I was playing the piano accompanied by a tall figure. The tone of his voice was so peaceful and wonderful. Though, a repeatedly disturbing sound was distracting me, as it was getting even louder. The tall figure faded away, but the sound of the piano still went on. It wasn't me, though who was playing it. I tried moving my eyes, but the heaviness of the darkness wouldn't let me move. I slowly opened my eyes, while the disturbing sound was still there mixed up with the simplicity of the piano melody and the soft voice. I focused on the mirror across me. I was lying in bed. Suddenly, the piano melody stopped. I tried to figure out where was the melody that was playing not long ago, coming from. I turned to my right coming across Jaehyun. His eyes were filled with tears and a wide smile was placed on his face. "She woke up! She woke up!". Jaehyun started shouting and quick footsteps were heard from outside the room. My mom and his step-father burst into the room, all crying and smiling. I wasn't able to move quite yet, but my lips could force a genuine smile. "What...what happened?". I asked, with my weak voice. "You got in an accident...some time ago". My mother said, crying. "H-how long ago?". I asked again. They all looked at each other. "Y/N...". Jaehyun paused. "You were in a coma for five months".
EPILOGUE
"So, whenever you ask me again how I feel. Please remember my answer is you...". Jaehyun kept on singing as I accompanied him with my piano. I finished the melody and everyone started applauding us. We looked at each other and smiled. "Come have a drink, you two". The owner of the jazz bar said and we decided to take a break. "You're the greatest duo, I've ever hired in my life". The drunk owner said and kindly patted Jaehyun on his shoulder. We were offered some wine and we sat at the bar to enjoy it. "So, what's next?". He asked. "We haven't even started". I laughed. He smiled at me and gave me a soft kiss on my hand. "As long as we're together, we don't have to think of anything else". I smiled at him and took a sip of my wine. "Let's go back on stage!". He said. "Hello again! Hope you're all having an amazing time. We continue with a beloved song of our collection. It's called The Night You Left, written by our favorite Y/N". Jaehyun said and all started applauding and shouting. My fingertips started embracing the piano, filling the small jazz bar with the aura of that song. I looked at him, as his lips hugged every word with such delicacy.
He was the most awaken dream of all.
The reason why I didn't let go of that thing called life.
