I roll my eyes and continue walking.

Looks like Noel was talking bullshit when he said he didn't like her, I think to myself. I've almost turned the corner when I hear a voice.

"Heather! Is that you?"

I spin around and notice Bella is walking towards me, a smile on her face. I awkwardly adjust the straps of my bag to make them more comfortable.

"Are you going to meet Damon?" she asks as Noel walks up behind her. I give him a dirty look.

"Yeah, and the others. Are you two coming as well?"

"I don't know..." Noel says.

"I think Damon would really appreciate it if you came, Bella," I say, staring Noel in the eyes the entire time which makes him blush in embarrassment.

"Alright then!" We begin to walk to where we're all meeting and Noel trails behind us awkwardly.

"Heather, can I talk to you for a second?" Noel whispers to me. We're all at Graham's house, seeing as it's the biggest and his parents aren't home.

"Why?"

"Please." He looks desperate, so I give in and he leads me out of the room before anyone notices.

"What is it, Noel?" I snap. He sighs.

"Please don't tell Damon about... what you saw earlier," he says nervously.

I cross my arms. "And why not? He's my friend, and you aren't." The hurt look on Noel's face almost makes me feel bad for what I said. Almost.

"I don't want him to hate me." I scoff and turn to go back into Graham's room but he grabs my hand.

"Look, Noel. If you want someone to like you, you don't go and kiss the girl they're in love with behind their back."

Before I can say anything else, Noel pulls me towards him and kisses my cheek gently, before going back into Graham's room. I stand there in shock for a few seconds before following him.
