Laken's P.O.V

"He is Rick Grimes." Carl says.

I nearly choke on those words, and take a few steps back. Rick Grimes? As in the savior who saved Karen? No. It couldn't possibly be. He saved Karen after the Governor gunned us all down. I was just like Karen, except I wasn't so lucky to be saved. But I'm still here, alive.

"Is Karen okay?" I blurt out without thinking.

Carl's head snaps up and looks at me with huge eyes.

"You knew Karen?" He asks breathlessly.

"Yes. She was part of my camp a long time ago." I say in reply, looking at Lainey and Conner's faces for their reactions.

"Woodbury?" Carl asks.

I just nod my head slowly, noticing the feeling of shame filling my mind. Conner looks at me with his wide eyes full of betrayal. Silence falls around the four of us.

 Carl breaks the silence first.

"Karen's dead."

Tears immediately fill my eyes. She's dead. Karen's dead.

"One of our own killed her," he says quietly. "She was sick."

Tears flood my cheeks and I feel rage building up inside me, "Did you kill who killed her?"

He shakes his head slowly, "We don't know who it was."

"Take me to your camp," I say looking down at Carl. "I'll find out who killed her."

He just cradles his dad's head in his lap and shakes his own head.

"Carl, your dad's fine. He's just unconscious," Lainey steps forward again.

Conner comes up to her and wraps his arm around her protectively as he looks at me with a hurt face. He mumbles something into her ear and she nods. He walks over to Carl and kneels beside him. I look at Lainey and see she's watching me.

"Why did you lie to Conner?" She asks quietly, looking down at the dark ground.

"Because if I didn't, he wouldn't have let me join his one man group." I reply.

She looks at me one last time and then focuses back on Conner and Carl. Carl stands up slowly and Conner follows shortly after him. They both bend down towards Rick and help him up. I realize that Rick is coming around. His narrowed eyes are still full of drowsiness. Conner and Carl both wrap his arms around their shoulders. Conner turns towards Lainey and tells her to get our supplies.

Conner then looks at me with that look and says, "Come on, Laken, we're leaving."

Lainey has our bags slung across her back and she glances at me and begins to follow the 3 men. I slowly trail behind them, on our way to the camp where Karen thought she was safe. But she still died; Not because of walkers, but because of people.

When I get there I'm going to find who killed her and slash their throat. I don't care who it is. Because whoever they are..

They're dead.
