Too close

Chapter 5

After I shower and get dressed Hayden and I get in his car and head to the movies. He is literally the best friend you can have he was sweet kind and funny. I just love him to death. We pull in and walk to the theater.

" What's showing thy looks interesting?" he ask looking from the list of movies to me.

" How bout 'Begin Again' it looks super cute?"

He makes a silly face at me I laugh.

" Fine what do you want to watch?"

"A scary movie or '22 Jump Street'" he laughs.

" Let's watch '22 Jump Street' then " I walk up to the window and as the lady for two tickets to '22 Jump Street' and I pay for them though there was argument about it but I won. We get some popcorn and soda but he paid for it before I could. He's been so good to me, letting me stay with him I want to repay him.

We get settled in the back row in there's no one else here maybe cause it's only 11 and this movies been out for a while but it was nice. The lights went down and the movie started. I went to grab a handful of popcorn when our hands touched and he looked at me and smiled his smile light up a dark room.

" If you wanted to hold my hand you could just ask" I laugh and blush but he can't see so I'm safe. I do hold his hand though for the rest of the movie. He is a really great friend and I feel like I feel something more for him, like I like him, but I just got out of a serious relationship and I don't want to ruin our friendship so for know I keep my mouth shut which was hard cause he could read me.

The movie was super funny and after we walked out hand in hand laughing and giggling all the way to his car.

"Thanks, I needed that" I say after we get settled in the car.

"Anything for you" he he smiles and starts the car. Anything for you echoes in my head.

I picked up my phone and turned it on I have one text from Ally: Hey can we talk. Da hell no we can't talk I said in my head but really I'm not ready to face her u don't want to hear the crap coming out of her mouth.

"He what's wrong Kris?" he says looking over at me for a sec then back at the road he must have noticed how quiet I was and the saw my sad expression on my face which felt more like a anger.

" I just got a text from Ally she wants to talk"

"Oh" was all he could say we drove home in silence it wasn't awkward just quiet.

It was now almost 2 when we get to our home. We walk in together. He turns on the tv to the weather channel. The lady on the news is talking about storm coming.

" Yes! Now is the time" Hayden yells running into his room.

" Time for what!" running after him. Knocking on his door. He opens up wearing his swim trunks and an old blue t shirt with a he in it.

" Time for what " I say stepping back as he walks by me.

" The waves " he says opening the hall closet and pulling out hit surf board.

" Can I go with you " he stops in the middle of the hall way and turns around walking quickly to me.

" Yes! go put you gear on I got another board in the closet if you want to surf to, but we got to hurry " I run to my room take of my clothes and slide in to a pair of pink bathing suit bottoms, tie on a matching top slide on short and tie my long sleeve rash guard around my waist slide on my flops and run out. Grab the board in the closet and run to the living room.

" Ready?" I say standing behind him as he watches the news.

" Don't you look like a cutie " he smiles and pats me on the head. My heart flutters and I smile. He stares for awhile then turns for the door.
