Nolan's POV
When she walked out do the room I went and laid down on the bed trying to think the last 30 minutes over. It's going to be longest week of my life I thought as I heard Callie walk in.
"I'm going to take shower okay" she said.
"Okay" I replied surprised by the fact that the sentence she just said is the most she's talked to me since I got here. She grabbed what she was gonna put on after and went to the bathroom. I laid back down and soon fell asleep.
I woke up to the sound of a hair dryer which I automatically knew was Callie's. It was already 7:30 and the party started at 8. So I decided to skip a shower that I'd take one when I got back since I knew she'd be in there a while. I threw on a pair of khaki shorts and pink polo. I walked over to the mirror to see if my hair needed fixing which it didn't so I was ready to go. The blow dryer turned off and Callie walked out in a long white dress that had lace on it. My breath hitched in my throat. She walked over to her suitcase and grabbed a pair of shoes. I watched her every move unable to take my eyes off of her. I think she noticed because she let out a small cough before she stood up and went back to her bag getting something before she went back to the bathroom.
As soon as she was gone I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. I guess she really did take my breath away. God she looked gorgeous in that dress. Wait what am I saying, hell I can't ignore the fact that she's beautiful.
Callie's POV
When I walked out I was nervous and scared. But as soon as I saw him I sucked in air and it seems he did to. I quickly got my shoes put them on and got the flower crown I was gonna be wearing with my dress. Once I have that in my hand I hurried back into the bathroom and began to take deep breaths.
The entire time I was out there he was looking at me. 'Why?' was the only thing I could think of. I kept on repeating it to myself over and over again but I finally gave up, telling myself I'd ask my friends later at the party. I adjusted the flower crown on my head and walked out to where Nolan was.
"Um I don't know where the pool is so could I walk with you when you go down" I asked
"Yeah, I'd love to" he responded again confusing me.
I sat on the opposite side of the bed to him and an awkward silence slowly drifted in. The time dragged on and seemed like forever but it was finally 8.
"You ready" he asked
"Yeah, um can you take the key since I don't have pockets" I said handing him my key
"Gladly" he said putting it in his pocket
Nolan's POV
Callie asked me to hold her key since her dress didn't have pocket and I did the gentleman thing. But she seemed kinda taken back by my words. She started down the hall with me right behind her.
Once we had reached the pool I saw Callie stiffen up a bit clearly shocked by the amount of people here. I walked up behind her, placing my hand on the small her back.
"You okay" I whispered in her ear. All she did was nod while looking up to me smiling for the first time since we got here. "Do you want me to stay with you until you find your friends?"
"No, you go on I'll be fine" she said shyly
"You sure"
"Yeah I'm good"
"Okay" I said walking away to find my friends.
